The pie chart is used to represent qualitative or categorical variables, preferably nominal.
Pie charts should not be used to show relationships between categories. It is easier to
make comparisons with bar graphs. Nor should they be used to show more than five
categories
There are many applications of pie charts and all are designed to help you to easily grasp
a bunch of information visually.
How many data series do you need for your data?
A pie chart only really works well when you only have one set of data.
If this is the case then you should stay clear of a pie chart as each segment is equal to its
value then when totalled equal to the whole, so using negative values can be rather
confusing.
Useful for displaying data that is classified into nominal or ordinal categories.
Generally used to show percentage or proportional data.
Try not use any zero values, as they cannot be represented.
Pie Charts can be used to display a wide variety of information. When data is represented
in the form of a pie chart the human eye finds it very easy to compare the data and quickly
draw conclusions. In short they are a great visual aid and will add a touch of
professionalism to any application or web page which requires the display of data.
Add powerful Pie Chart reporting features to your Web / Intranet pages and
applications.
The Advanced Pie Chart software makes it easy to quickly add impressive and dynamic
graphing capabilities to business applications and web pages.
Tables of data are well and good but the human eye prefers pictures. By representing
data graphically the viewer can take in a large amount of information in a very short period
of time. With a graph any trend within the data becomes easy to spot. Similarly if any of
the data is lower or higher than the norm then this too is immediately obvious to the
viewer. Both of these are particularly important where the graph is representing some sort
of performance data.
A good graphical display is pleasing to the eye and therefore can have the effect of
impressing the viewer and encourage them to read more of a page or site. As such a
professional looking graph has a positive knock on effect for the rest of a site.
Typically adding charting functionality to a web pages involves adding a small amount
html code, setting some configuration settings (like fonts and colors) and supplying the
data. The graph software will then read the data and configuration at page view time and
produce the graph image dynamically within the page.
This software provides a very easy way to embed dynamically generated real time pie
charts and charts into web applications and HTML web pages. The graphing software is
very easy to use and it is perfectly possible to add professional quality real time pie
charting to web pages and applications within minutes. With a free trial and Money Back
Guarantee, try it out today.
