University of Oregon

College. Does that not sound scary? Maybe, but not to me. I think that college is fun.

College is supposed to be a new experience. The thought of going to college has me very excited

to pursue my dreams and careers. In the article,Why go to college? it states,Youll be able to

pursue your own interest through extracurricular activities and perhaps discover a career

direction youve never considered or a talent thats been waiting to blossom. This quote made

me think about my decision of going to the University of Oregon because ever since I was little

Im a person with many interests doing a lot of extracurricular activities that made get more and

more talented on the things that I do in my life. And becoming a very talented person I was able

to realize that theses interests that had let me discover the career that I am hoping to be in my

adult life. Many schools like the University of Oregon gives you a chance to be a part of

extracurricular activities that make deciding on a career a lot easier. The career that I want to

study is architectural engineering because every time I see a building and the way its design I

always wonder who came up with a fascinating idea to design it like that. The ability to create an

idea with imagination gives me an opportunity to do something good in life and use my drawing

skills and put them where I can be talented and be able to achieve anything. And the University

of Oregon can give me the learning experience I need to be successful because the environment

and department programs are so helpful to you and which direction you want face in life. As a

high school senior its very important that you research your school and your career because it

honestly helps you a lot and as for me it really was important for me to do because when i was

getting to start high school as a senior i was so scared. I didnt know what I was going to do

when applying to college. I was clueless on what was going on because the information I had

was not being put together correctly in my eyes and so be able to take the process slow and only

researching what I need to research it made my life of college a lot easier for me.

All of my life I really loved to draw and the one who got me to love the arts is my dad,

ever since I was able to realize that drawing makes me the person I am. Drawing for me is a way

to calm down, express my feelings, and be able to pursue my dreams of becoming someone who

can inspire people to realize that art itself can be amazing and can be used for a lot of things. My

drawing ability has made my decision of being in the architecture business, but I do not have to

stick with that one because if it is not meant for me my backup career is to be a paleontologist.

Another article called,The 10 Most Common Excuses for Not Going to College and Why

Theyre All Wrong, it states,The biggest mistake you can make is to think that any decision

you make is cast in concrete and that you can never change your major-or your life. It is saying

that because you do not get your career that you been wanting you have a second option. And

when it comes to me I feel like I can not choose two career paths because I do not know which

one to start with. And so I hope I can get a college experience of the studies that they have in

order to realize what my career path is going to be like. With that I would be able to see and

know what I really want to do in my life and I believe that those careers will benefit me later in

college. I say college is not that bad, you just have to know what you want as a person, realize

that college is the best option out there.

Choosing the right college can be hard, but when you know what you want in such a

college then; choosing would not be hard at all, it will be easier for you to choose the right

college for you. In order to figure out the college that is meant for you is knowing who you are

as a person in your very own society. Such as location, setting/environment, and your sense of

style in the world, those are the most important thing to you as a person to think and care about

when deciding the right college for you. In the article,Colleges and Universities: Choosing the

Right Fit, it states,When examining the potions in a college guide, think about where you grew

up and how much of a change you want. I believe that this does matter when finding the right

college. The reason why I chose the University of Oregon is not that its a far away home- which

I love; in order to explore the state of Oregon -it reminds me of my childhood which was clam,

nothing but to explore, gentle, and in a safe environment. The thing that made me feel this way

was the environment and how beautiful the campus looks. And that spoke to me really quick

because I told myself this is somewhere to learn and explore new, exciting things. I am a type of

a person who loves adventure and the ability to do at the University of Oregon its the reason

why I would choose it.

But, after the picking of the college setting, the admission process is where it all starts.

The eligibility requirements for the admission of the University of Oregon is not too crazy but is

informative to apply. On the University of Oregon website, it states,A. Graduate from a

standard or accredited the high school. B. Earn C- or better in 15 college preparatory courses. C.

Submit your official high school transcripts. D. Submit SAT or ACT scores. E. Submit an

application essay. F. Optional second essay. That is the freshman admission requirements at the

University of Oregon. See not too much crazy, but a lot of work. These requirements will be a

challenge for me because my essays can be a little off but that is not going to stop me from

applying. I believe that my chance of getting in is a low-high situation because Im really

confident but at the same time I feel like Im just going to miss it. But overall, these requirements

will be challenging but because its challenging thats why I love this college.

There are much more reasons why I love it such as the academic and sports life there.

The academic also plays a big part because its where you will be attending all four years. On the

Unigo website, it states that the student-faculty ratio is 21:1 and the undergraduate enrollment is

20,797. This type of ratio is good because it allows you to be able to get to know your professor

and your fellow classmates. The ability to have that is amazing because it allows you to have

more of an up-close learning situation, then having a lot of students in a class where the

professor doesn't know your name and you can not meet all of your classmates. So having a 21:1

ratio of a class size is the best opportunity.

With having that opportunity in class sizing there is also a huge part of college life that

plays that part is the sports life. If you are really a sports fan like me then I believe the University

of Oregon is the right college to attend for the sports attention. The 20,797 that the University of

Oregon has is the best when it comes to the sports life because it gives the students there to be

part of the schools spirit and the athletic have the support they need to do their best and

represent their school. On the Unigo website, it states, the sport culture there is very productive

because most of the school spirit comes from mostly from the student body that attend the

university. And most of the student are really excited to play or even get involved with what is

going at the university with all the fun events they have. And that is what makes the university

very exciting and awesome because it gives you a sense of belonging somewhere that you are

accepted. For a college to have a majority of the students supporting the sports life it gives the

school the idea of having the school spirit when it comes to the athletic side. And I would love to

be part of a college where sports is a big deal because like myself I play sports: volleyball and

basketball. For having a school such as the University of Oregon they take they sport life serious

and that is the type of school that I would love applying to.

To study in a major of architecture its very cool, exciting but a lot of the job duties it has

and is required to pursue that career in the major of architecture. The career I have chosen is

being an architect which is very important to society, carriers a lot of job duties that create it,

represent and make it look beautiful in the world. On the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics website,

it states,People need places to live, work, play, learns, shop and eats. Architects are responsible

for designing these places. They work on public or private projects and design both indoor and

outdoor spaces. Architects can be commissioned to design anything from a single room to an

entire complex of buildings. I say that its important that architecture has these specific jobs

duty type that made me choose the career I want. With the architects being able to do and give so

much to the world it gives the people a variety of the society they want to live in. In the previous

website, it also states,According these plans are drawings of the structural system: air

conditioning, heating, and ventilating systems; electrical systems; communications systems; and

plumbing. Sometimes, landscapes plans are included as well. In developing designs, architects

must follow state and local building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances

such as those requiring easy access to buildings for people who are disabled. Those are other

types of job duties that the architect career is mostly involved in. I say that is an awesome career

to be in because the ideas you come up with makes a huge impact on how society lives in your

ideas.

In order to make that the education needed for that career is a lot to take in because there

is so much to learn and discover ways to do many of the things that architects do. That is why

I'm so interested because I love to learn and discover new ways to bring the world to look

beautiful. In the California Career Zone, California Career Resource website, it states Build

landscape, architectural and display models. Create freehand drawings and lettering to

accompany drawings. Prepare colored drawings of landscape and interior designs for

presentation to client. These are some of the creative sides of being an architect because the

education needed for that is to mostly show what you can do with your creative side and I

believe that the University of Oregon has a really good architecture program in design. Also, it

allows you know what type of courses to take at the University of Oregon, such as it says on the

website above, it states, Prepare cost estimate, contracts, bidding documents, and technical

reports for specific projects under an architects supervision. Other than having a creative side

for being an architect, there is also a business side to it as well. And having that type of

education it gives the idea of being a business person, and show how architects are handling the

education of business into that same career. So these are mostly the education needed to have a

career in architecture, and that's why I have chosen it because Im a creative, and sometimes a

business person inside.

With having all that education knowledge in your career it makes your salary higher or

even in the middle. But having this career on the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistic website, it

states, Pay:$36.99 per hour, Salary:$76,930 per year.That kind of job makes a lot of money

with that kind of career in architecture it's very good. That type of pay it takes a lot of education

for example by just having your bachelors and applying for a career you will get more pay but if

you go back to get your masters for your education the pay will go even higher than what you

were getting from just having your bachelor's degree. And so the highest salary that can become

of this field is being really in salary and in pay by doing all of the education you need to get your

pay and salary to having really good pay. The job outlook for that career of architecture might be

very tough because there are a few of architects that are involved in a business that might not

need more than one architect. But that's not going to stop me from reaching my dream and

succeeding in the career I have chosen.

This school has made me learn so much that it made me realize that this school is the one

for me and the career that wants to do as well. The result of doing this project was to help me and

look more into the school and my career and see if this is what I want to do when I go to college.

And also it gives me to do something that I have never done and research so much to inform me

about hows it's going to be when the idea of many college acceptance letters come my way and

decide what I want to do with my life. While doing the fun part which is researching the thing

that stood out that was so fascinating to me was that the University of Oregon is so interested in

their sports. Since I love sports so much that was a hugely important thing for me, because all of

my life ever since I was I played soccer, basketball, and volleyball and I just enjoy the sporting

life so much. And at the University of Oregon, the sports life it is so incredible like every student

is involved and is always cheering, supporting for their variety of sports team there and so that

what was my fascinating part about my researching my school. Also, the reason I choose this

school for his project because the University of Oregon is my dream school that I wish to attend

to and I'm guaranteed that I'm applying to that school. I'm applying there because ever since I

was 12 and spend 4 weeks with my cousin in Oregon, I instantly fell in love with the state itself

and the schools there too because the schools there were so beautiful and so interesting with all

the information it gave me when I went to go visit them but out of all the school that visit the one

that stood out to me the most was which is my dream school; University of Oregon. And that's

why I'm planning to apply to the University of Oregon.

Before applying to a college it's important that you research that college before because

so much information you can miss out if you do not look into it. There can be many important

things in that school that might not work out or even stuff that I did not know that you needed or

missed. And before committing to a career, the thing that I learned from my research is basically

what does your career does, gets paid how much, learn and what you need to get a job in the real

world. And committing to a career for me was easy because I knew when I was 8 years old that I

always wanted to be an architect and study architecture. And so I say that is my next steps in life

while I make the hardest, biggest decision in life is which college to say yes to?, saying that this

is the career I want is my whole life to stick with until I graduate. And by meaning that this is my

time to just get ready for what is going happen next in my life.
