NEHBA ANNUAL MEETING

December 10, 2017


The annual meeting opened at 9:05am with a roll call being completed all member clubs except
Merrimack and Thornton

President

Larry began by stating overall the association is running at a high level with participation
slipping by two of our clubs. He will reach out to these clubs to inquire as to cause of sudden
lack of participation.

Discussed the assault of junior handler at Federation trial and where the investigation is
currently. States it in legal and AKC hands awaiting response.

Discussed our association and its members in regard to our level of professionalism and
sportsmanship at events/ trials. We need to maintain ourselves at a high standard to properly
represent the association.

By laws will be discussed as they have been issued and need to vote on the changes this
meeting.

Consistency points on federation level need addressing and Larry will follow up with a letter to
inquire to issues on their end.

Kids trial is a big trial for the association and needs a new home somewhere in our southern
clubs, specifically Paskamansett or Bay State.

Treasurer Report-

Currently $1,343.35 in account with NE and EConn fundraiser money along with $180 from
Winners Stakes. Motion to accept by Doug Bower and seconded by Peter Marks, passed

Secretary Report-

Minutes from Semi-Annual meeting were read, and a slight adjustment made to fundraiser
wordage accepted with a motion by Dave Bourque and seconded by Jason Wiseman

Field Trial Secretary-

We had a profit of $180.oo from Winners Stakes

Unfinished Business-

By Law Changes: see updated by laws

Oak Hill- left on good standings and is requesting to be let back into association, discussion
ensued, and it was decided that they will be allowed back in pending they pay required fees.
$75 dues and $30 perdiem

Trash breaker raffle was drawn with Larry Mazza winning the unit, it raised $855 for the
association. Jerry Carreau Jr was thanked for his donation as we discussed future fundraisers to
raise funds.

Banquet was discussed and the possibility of moving the venue and having it catered as a club.
Discussion ensued, and Kelly Santos wife of Mike Santos was selected to cater this years
banquet on March 3rd depending on space it will be help at Paskamansett or Bay State. Price
per ticket will remain at $25 dollars per adult and all kids will now be free. Tippy Willis was
then thanked for his years of service around setting up and running the event. Motion by Tony
Roderick and seconded by Jerry Carreau Jr, passed

Winners Stakes was then discussed- it was determined we needed to put more work into this
event, as such a committee has been formed with the following members volunteering to be on
committee Jerry Carreau, Jason Wiseman, George Faria, Mike Santos, Robert Sousa. Further
discussion ensued, arounds fees, prizes, fundraising, with a motion being presented to have a
special meeting at first derby trial of the year, Jason Wiseman motioned with Doug Bower
seconding, passed

Thornton/Merrimack- were then discussed regarding failing to attend last meeting being
assessed $25 fee and missing this meeting. Faria discussed how Tri-County was assessed in the
past and how we need to return to the delegates list. Motion by Jason Wiseman and seconded
by George Faria to send letter to both clubs to determine whats preventing them from
attending meetings, passed

Federation- discussion about consistency and the need for it to be accurate and up to date,
motion by Doug Bower and seconded by George Faria to write letter, passed.

Further discussion of Federation was tabled to special meeting in March at 1 st derby trial

Trial Forms/Reports- Larry Mazza discussed incomplete forms and how it is detrimental for
clubs to get all required documentation in on time to Mike Santos to assure proper tracking.

Bower, passed

Tippy Willis has stepped down as FTC and Dave Bourque has stepped down as FTS,
Jason Wiseman volunteers to be FTS and Robert Sousa volunteers to be FTC

Secretary- Mike Santos
FTS- Jason Wiseman

The secretary than casted one vote to keep officers as discussed, passed

New Business-

Association Awards were then discussed with the following being purchased for each award,
also discussed was the 2016 High Sire and Dam

2017 Awards:

High Hounds (4) up to $120 item of choice to include adding lettering to current items

2016/ 2017 High Sire and Dams (4) up to $120 item

Runner-ups to receive Certificate and an Association Hat, two dozen hats to be ordered

Champions (2) fleece jackets

Motion by Jason Wiseman and seconded by George Faria for list of awards above, passed

Motion by Larry Mazza and seconded by George Faria to donate $200 to kids trial, passed

2018 Running Season was then discussed, and clubs picked their dates, it was agreed with no
representation from Merrimack and Thornton we would follow their dates from last season

Motion to make Doug Bower chairman of the Hall of Fame committee, motioned by Larry
Mazza and seconded by Jerry Carreau, passed

Motion by Doug Bower to adjourn at 12:45pm seconded by Mike Santos, passed
