How TALR works:

1. A PIG train is launched into an isolated section of the water mains via an upstream fire hydrant or
hot tap.
2. The PIG train contains a compartment consisting of Curapipes unique viscous curing substance
lodged between two PIGs.
3. The substance operates under pressure, and automatically detects and seals leaky joints, fittings &
service connections.
4. The PIG train is typically extracted through a downstream fire hydrant.
5. The substance hardens and leaks are permanently cured.

A New Category of Leakage Repair
By introducing the TALR solution, Curapipe has launched a new category of leakage repair, thus filling an important gap
in the market.
In the early days, water leakage was detected visually. Underground leakage from pinholes and cracks went therefore
undetected. Since 1930, detection and monitoring solutions were used to locate underground water leakage. Recent
technology advancements have concentrated primarily on these traditional areas including pressure reduction which
ensures maintaining leakage levels but not sustainably reducing them.
With the current economic and environmental needs for bulk reduction of water leakage, governmental agencies, water
utilities and operators are welcoming a detect & in situ repair solution for reducing leakage levels. Such a solution
would be rapid (hours, not days), socially and environmentally friendly (no / low disruptive digging) and cost effective
(repair instead of pipe replacement).
