eventswillbeloggedbytheECM.Someeventsareactiveonly.Eventsthatareactiveonlyarenotloggedbythe
ECM.TheactiveeventsandtheloggedeventscanbeviewedbyuseoftheMessengerorbyuseofthe
CaterpillarElectronicTechnician(CatET)ServiceTool.

WarningLevels
TheECMwillassignoneofthreewarningslevelstoanactiveeventcode.Thelevelsarebasedontheseverity
oftheabnormalsystemcondition.Eachwarninglevelrequiresaspecificresponsefromtheoperator.The
warninglevelsandrequiredoperatorresponsearelistedbelow.

Level1

Warninglevel1alertstheoperatorthatamachinesystemrequiresattention.Theoperatorshouldcheckthatthe
involvedsystemconditionortheoperatorshouldperformmaintenanceontheinvolvedsystemattheearliest
possibletime.

Level2

Warninglevel2requireschangingtheoperationofthemachineorperformingamaintenanceprocedure.Failure
tocorrecttheproblemrelatedtothiswarningmayresultindamagetothecomponentsofthemachinesystem
thatareinvolved.

Level2S

Warninglevel2Srequiresanimmediatechangeinmachineoperationtoavoidpossibledamagetothesystemof

onlytypeofindicatorthatwillilluminate.

TheactionIndicatorwillflashredwhenalevel2warningorlevel3warningisactive.Ifcommunication
betweenMessengerandtheInstrumentClusterfails,theactionlampwillflashyellow.

TheactionalarmisdrivenasanoutputdirectlyfromtheInstrumentCluster.Ifalevel3warningisactive,the
actionalarmwillsoundatone(pulsing).Theactionalarmwillsoundthesetonestoalertthemachineoperator
thatimmediateactionisrequired.

Iftwowarningsofadifferentlevelareactiveatthesametime,thehighestlevelwarningwillbedisplayed.

The"E"meansthatthecodeisaneventcode.The"XXXX"isanumericidentifier.Thenumericidentifieris
followedbyadescriptionofthecode.

Activeeventcodesarelistedinascendingnumericalorder.Thecodewiththelowestnumberislistedfirst.The
activeeventcodeisremovedfromthelistwhentheconditionisnolongerpresent.

LoggedEventCodes

SomeeventcodesareloggedintheECMmemory.Someeventcodesareactiveonly.Theloggedeventcodes
arelistedinchronologicalorder.Themostrecentcodeislistedfirst.
