11) Define voltage regulation. What are the tests to be conducted to find the Voltage (16)
Regulation?

12) Explain in detail about the following (16)

(i) use of damper windings to prevent Hunting
(ii) Synchronization with Infinite Bus bar

13) Explain the working principle and construction of the 3 phase induction motor with (16)

tapping on an autotransformer to limit the starting current to twice the full-load current of
the motor. Determine also the starting torque in terms of full-load torque

are 85% and 0.8 lag respectively. The blocked rotor line current is 45 A at 220V.
Calculate the ratio of starting to full-load current, if the motor is provided with a star-delta
starter. Neglect magnetizing current. What are Non-maskable interrupts? Brief on it

7)
A 400 V , 6 pole , 3-phase, 50 Hz, star connected synchronous motor has stator
resistance and synchronous reactance of 0.2 ohm and 3.0 ohm per phase respectively. It
takes 20 Amps at u.p.f. when operating with a certain field current. If the load torque is
