Minutes of the Commissioner’s Meeting


November 15, 2017

The regular scheduled meeting of the Williamson County Emergency Services District #8 was held on
Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 6:00p.m. at 3500 D B Wood Road. The President, Bobby Bunte being in
the chair, and a quorum present, the meeting was called to order at 6.15pm.

Present: Commissioner’s Bobby Bunte, Bennie Piper, Troy Rodriguez, Ira Wood
Staff: Ron Barrick, Nancy Rangel
Visitors: Chief John Sullivan, Chief Clay Shell, Chief Davis, Eric Johnson w/The City of Georgetown

Meeting

1. Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the Regular Session meeting
held on October 18, 2017.

● Commissioner Rodriguez made a motion to approve the Regular Session meeting minutes held
on October 18, 2017. Commissioner Piper seconds. Motion carried.

2. Presentation of the monthly Treasurer’s Report and payment of bills by Ron Barrick.

● Money Market balance: $3,791,221.10


● Checking: $425,795.95
● Total Money Market and Checking balance: $4,217,017.05
● Commissioner Wood made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report for September as read
and pay the bills as submitted. Commissioner Rodriguez seconds. Motion carried.

3. Monthly presentation and report(s) by City of Georgetown Fire Chief John Sullivan.

● Chief Sullivan gave the Board a brief overview of City-wide events and developments that
occurred in October.

4. Discussion and possible action regarding the installation of hydrants.

● Chief Shell presented. It’s possible, on the Jonah side, to complete this project. Carry over to
February. Commissioner Piper made a motion to move this item until February, 2018 per
recommendation from Georgetown Fire staff. Commissioner Rodriguez seconded. Motion
carried.
5. Discussion and action to canvass the election results and execute the order regarding the
annexation of Garey Park and surrounding properties into ESD8.

● Final order was read, approved and filed by ESD8 Board.

6. Discussion and possible action related to the construction of Fire Station #6.

● Eric Johnson, with the City of Georgetown, presented the Board with a detailed update. Making
definite progress. He will continue to forward all updates, documents, etc., to the Board as he
receives them from BRW, Architects.

Carry over.

7. Discussion and possible action on web and email services.

● Commissioner Wood made a motion to go forward with the GoDaddy Online Essentials and
Business Website Builder for an estimated amount of $2200.00 annually. Commissioner
Rodriguez seconds. Motion carried.

Carry over.

8. Public Comment.

● None.

Next regular session meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 6:00p.m. at the Public
Safety Operations and Training Center. No further business was discussed or actions taken. Commissioner
Piper made a motion for adjournment. Commissioner Rodriguez seconds. Meeting was adjourned at 8:52p.m.
