Poetry (the term derives from a variant of the Greek term, poiesis, "making") is a form
of literature that uses aesthetic and rhythmic[1][2][3] qualities of language—such
as phonaesthetics, sound symbolism, and metre—to evoke meanings in addition to, or in place of,
the prosaic ostensible meaning.

Poetry has a long history, dating back to the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh, symbolism, irony and
other stylistic elements of poetic diction often leaves a poem open to multiple interpretations.
Similarly figures of speech such as metaphor, simile and metonymy[4] create a resonance between

Paraphrasing the meaning of Four Genres in Literature

Fiction- invented by the imagination

Nonfiction- dealing with or offering opinions or conjectures upon facts and reality

Poetry- it is a form of literature that uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language.

Drama- a story involving conflict or contrast of a character

Literature creates a way for people to record their thoughts and experiences in a way that is
accessible to others, through fictionalized accounts of the experience. Through the help of four
genres in literature, people in this world may express their thoughts as much as they want
because I believe that these genres will help people to create, to broad their own imagination
About things that is not yet happening to build their own imagination to a better one. To
reconstruct the choices of words that they use, and to express everything they want by the use
of these genres. We all know that literature is writing that is considered to be an
art form or any single writing deemed to have an artistic value in language. For
me, the four genres of literature (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama)
Literature is important in everyday life because it connects individuals with larger truths and
ideas in our society.
