Transition

The dialogue will help in the first part of the class to introduce the grammar. So I will ask students to tell me when
was the last time they went to a party or how many times before they have attended parties.

Teaching 20

Introduce time expression. At this point they may start to mention a few time expressions, so help them out with
exercise 4 page 43. I will hand out a worksheet with present time expressions and students will look for their
equivalent in the past. Then check as a class. Students can complete exercise B. Then teach the past tense using
last week’s calendar for Easter. Then they will go from Monday to Sunday writing down what they did, they can only
write the actions after that you will model the exercise with regular verbs and have them practice with the their
friends for pronunciation.

Then provide practice to practice the past tense with regular verbs first play the game on exercise 5 page. Follow
instructions on page 69 as the book states. The after the game and they have a clear understanding for the usage of
regular verbs.

Make small groups. Hand out each group blank pieces of paper and then have them write verbs on them, collect the
papers and then tell them that they will write a story based on the verbs that will show. All stories will start like last
week I played in the park… then they will continue, at the end I will have groups read out their stories. Focus on
error correction and then teach negative form by asking students how they would writ the same sentences using
negative forms. Go through the teaching of negative forms after that they must do exercise 6 and 7 in the book.

Are you jealous or relaxed? Elicit the meaning of the word jealous.

Then have students use the teen talk part on page 45 as the warm up for the next listening exercises. Also ask them
about the foods on the bottom of the page. Do they like it? Then have them listen and use the strategies from the
learn to learn box. You might write some verbs on the board to let them know which verbs they will listen to, then
have them answer exercise 9 as the wrap up for this activity. 20

Transition

Tell students they will remember facts on semana santa.

Wrap up 20 min

Individually students will recreate the events that happened during last week. What they did or didn’t do. I want my students to
work alone because I want to assess them and correct them because they talk about what they did during last week
