12 Preformed Armor Rods

The preformed armor rods are used to keep the conductor from the vibration , clamp compressive
stress ,friction and abrasion , electric arc and other damages, and are always installed in the ship-type
suspension clamp and support insulators. The preformed armor rods and repair could repair the damaged
conductor and make it recover the primary mechanical intensity and electric capability.
The structure of the preformed armor rods and preformed short armor rods is simple and a set of
preformed rods become an empty pipe and enlace, hold and protect the conductor.

Trait：

of the conductor.

Note：
When less than 25% of the lines of the outer aluminum conductor wire and the outer aluminum wire of the
ACSR are fractured, the short armor rods and repair could recover them and regain 100% mechanical intensity
and electric performance
When 25% to 50% of the lines of the outer aluminum conductor wire and the outer aluminum wire of the
ACSR are fractured, the short armor rods and repair could recover them and regain 100% mechanical intensity
and electric performance.

Use and structure:

The preformed armor rods are used to keep the conductor from the vibration, clamp compressive stress,
friction and abrasion, electric arc and other damages. The structure of the preformed armor rods and

and protect the conductor。The product is suitable for the standard preformed rods for ACSR; it always
installed in the ship-type suspension clamp and support insulators. And it will not be used in splice or repair
sleeve.

Trait:
1）The preformed rods holding the conductor tightly, avoid slip of conductor, and so that minimized the
abrasion of conductor.
2）Due to the grip flexibility of preformed rods, it will keep the conductor from loosen.
3）The raw material have been sealed with stainless, so that to keep excellent corrosion resistance.
4）Installed by hand directly, no need special tool.
5）Easy to guarantee the quality of installation, checked by optic view without special training.
6) The preformed rods is a very common fitting, it can be matched with different clamps.
