Q1) Can you name a famous mathematician who are also renowned
architects?
A1) Alessandro Maria
Q2) What do you think is mathematics?
A2) Mathematics is the study of topics such as space, quantity, structure,
and change. There is a range of views among mathematicians and
philosophers as to the exact scope and definition of mathematics.
Q3) Do you have to be good at math, in order to be a good architect?

A3) According to me, being good at math is beneficial for an architect,

because architecture involves a lot of math, though it is not obligatory.

Q4) How math is used in architecture?

A4) Architects use mathematics for several reasons, leaving aside the
necessary use of mathematics in the engineering of buildings. Firstly, they
use geometry because it defines the spatial form of a building. Secondly,
they use mathematics to design forms that are considered beautiful or
harmonious.
Q5) How is trigonometry used in architecture?
A5) Trigonometry is used in architecture to ensure that buildings are built
safely. for example, architects have to calculate exact angles of intersection
for components of their structure to ensure stability and safety.

Q1) Can you name a famous mathematician who are also renowned
architects?
A1) Galileo Galilei
Q2) What do you think is mathematics?
A2) Mathematics is the study of topics such as space, quantity, structure,
and change. There is a range of views among mathematicians and
philosophers as to the exact scope and definition of mathematics.
Q3) What you understand by architecture?
A3) Architecture is both the process and the product of planning, designing,
and constructing buildings or any other structures.
Q4) What kind of relationship exists between Math and Architecture?
A4) Mathematics and architecture are related, since, as with other
arts, architects use mathematics for several reasons. Apart from the
mathematics needed when engineering buildings, architects use geometry:
to define the spatial form of a building; from the Pythagoreans of the sixth
century BC onwards, to create forms considered harmonious, and thus to
lay out buildings and their surroundings according to
mathematical, aesthetic and sometimes religious principles; to decorate
buildings with mathematical objects such as tessellations; and to meet
environmental goals, such as to minimise wind speeds around the bases of
tall buildings.
Q5) What all mathematical concepts are involved in architecture?
A5) Many concepts are involved in archietcture, a few being-
 Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry. ...
 Calculus. ...
 Probability and Statistics. ...
 Linear Programming. ...
 Considerations, etc.

Q3) How can architectural designs be improved with research studies in
Maths?
A3) The deeper the study will be, the greater will be the understanding.
More research would surely mean improved architectural designs.
Q4) Can you explain the use of math in any Indian monument?
A4) Yes, Taj Mahal is an example. The buliding is beautifully made with the
help of symmetrical and geometrical concepts.
Q5) What similarities do you find in diferent monuments?
A5) The similarities that I find in different monuments is that they all use
math in different ways for construction . Geometry and Symmetry are the
most common concepts amonga all.
Q6) Do construction workers use math too?
A6) Construction workers must use math in a variety of ways while
practicing their trade, including taking measurements, converting
quantities and solving equations.Construction workers must be able to add,
subtract, divide and multiply as well as work with fractions.
