In the space of two weeks in 2017, Estero High teachers and

administrators built an investigation file on former art teacher Jennifer

Hambling around three incidents:

• On or about Jan. 26 Kristin Davie, a language teacher, sees a male

student massaging Hambling’s shoulders in her classroom

• Jan. 26 Ken Dawson, an ROTC teacher, tells Davie he’s noticed a

student spending extra time with Hambling. Davie in turn tells him
what she saw.

• Jan. 26 Both talk to administrator Johnnie Mae Hawkins.

• Jan. 31 Dawson sees Hambling give the student a backrub in her

class and takes pictures.

• Feb. 2 He gives the pictures to the school resource officer, Corp.

Iris Sullivan.

• Feb. 2 Sullivan, a deputized law enforcement officer, sees

Hambling give the student money for a pizza in her classroom. The
teacher calls the boy ‘my friend’ and knows where he lives.

• Feb. 2 Sullivan reports what she saw to the principal.

• Feb. 2 Hawkins reports what she heard to the principal.

• Feb. 3 Davie, Dawson and Sullivan make written statements of

what they saw.
