The concept of Yatra or spiritual pilgrimage finds its source in Vedic times, when
saints and sages established pilgrimage centers all over India that would give one a
sense of belonging and identity with Her spiritual culture. Yatra implies a moral,
physical and mental discipline and is considered a great yoga. Through these Yatra’s
messages of love, tolerance and mutual respect are shared with the community. It is
said that visiting these holy sites cleanses the karmas of all past lives.

A Yatra is not a holiday. Challenges are part of the journey but the faith carries the
pilgrim through to deeper levels of consciousness. Yatra is nothing but a person going
to ones higher self. It is journey, on Earth, to one's "Isht", one's higher self, one's
altar.

We know that in the western world, one adds a lot of sightseeing, etc. But that is not
the purpose of a Yatra. The purpose of the Yatra is "Yaa-traa". Thou shall swim across
the karma. "Yaa" means must. "Traa" means swim across. That is Yatra.

This entire Maa Kamakhya Maha Yatra is Her divine calling. Our combined cosmic
and spiritual energies will merge with Her manifested Shakti.

3. PARTAKE IN BHOG PRASADAM AT LUNCH
DARSHAN OF DUS MAHA VIDYA TEMPLES: BAGALAMUKHI,
BHUBANESWARI KALI, TARA, SODASHI, BHAIRAVI,
DHUMAVATI, MATANGI, KAMALA, CHINNAMASTA
Note: we will cover as far as possible depending on Temple closing
hours and daylight left
4. EVENING SADHNANA (Omkara and Kriya) / BRIEF TALK ON
