Uniqueness of KON is the only nursing faculty in Malaysia public
KON institution and has 5 different department. Each department
has their own uniqueness of business yet still related to
nursing field. Hopefully with the presence of these
department will assist KON to grow better and be one of the
respective nursing institution in Malaysia. In addition, KON
has to inculcate the Islamic input into their curriculum.
Therefore, that could be one of the difference of KON and
the other institution.

Before joining Worked in Faculty of Medicine, UPM and obtained PhD
KON from Faculty of Bio-Molecular and Biotechnology UPM
Expert in The synthesis and production of Antibiotic from natural
source.
Attraction to join During that time, KON was a newly established Kulliyah
KON and I saw this as a great challenge and new adventure for
me. I wanted to be a part and founder of a scientifically
exceptional Kulliyah like KON. Furthermore, it was a great
opportunity for me to be a member of a prestigious
University like IIUM.
Expectancy for Anticipated to see KON has a bigger role in progressing
KON Nursing research and becomes a center for providing Nurses
to Islamic world especially Middle Eastern countries that are
facing a shortage.
Best memory in How we started as a small group and were able to build and
KON shape the Kulliyah into what it is today.
Uniqueness of Staffs in KON are a small happy family that stands united
KON behind a dream. We will never stop working until KON
becomes globally recognized as a center for Nursing
education.

Before joining worked as Registered Nurse U29 in Intensive Care Unit of
KON Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia Kubang Kerian Kelantan,
before taking an offer as Academic Trainee of IIUM in 2006
pursuing Bachelor of Health Science Nursing (Honours).

Attraction to join Passion towards teaching particularly in nursing profession.

Expectancy for to be a centre of reference for postgraduate nursing
KON education to produce the nation’s demands of Nurse
Specialists.

Expectancy for KON grow by itself as a first Nursing Faculty in Malaysia
KON and hope KON can lead this field as a nursing faculty in line
with the mission and vision of the IIUM.
Best memory in to work with all staff (academic and admin) from different
KON areas and also very valuable for me to understand the
concept and the actual nursing function.

Before joining A postgraduate master student under BMS department in
KON KOM, IIUM
Expert in Cell culture management, Cancer cells research, Molecular
techniques like Conventional PCR, qPCR, gel
electrophoresis, western blotting, co-immune assay,
chromatin immune-precipitation.
Attraction to join to teach undergraduates anatomy and physiology in order to
KON provide them with a sound & healthy base upon which they
can efficiently build their clinical expertise.

Expectancy for improvements on undergraduates curriculum, and improve

KON the discipline of final years research projects.
Best memory in There were many great times in KON such as celebrating
KON Merdeka 2012, celebrating hari raya every year, celebrating
nurses day in 2012 and off course most unforgettable
moment was my first lecture with undergraduates.
Uniqueness of Basically as a lecturer in the department of BMS teaching in
KON KON I feel it is a great opportunity to teach Malaysian
future nurses and give the best community impact because
nurses are always in contact with the patient taking care and
relieving the patient from his or her physical and
psychological pains I don't feel any difference between
KON and other Kulliyyahs in what I give them but I know
difference is in what they will give to the society.

RUSILAWATI BT ABD RAHMAN.

Date of Joining 2nd September 2006.
KON
Before joining worked at University Hospital (UH), Petaling Jaya, Selangor
KON for 10 years and at the same time, graduated with Post Basic
Pediatrics in 2001. Then, I took 2 years unpaid leave to
follow my husband to Kuala Lumpur and during that time I
did my Bachelor In Nursing.

Expert in General Nursing and specifically in pediatric.

Attraction to join I joined as a result of following my husband who joined

KON IIUM earlier. Initially I was Clinical Instructor then was
offered by dean a staff nurse post which is a permanent post.

Expectancy for I hope and wish that all categories to improve them self to
KON word higher learning to achieve quality of Kulliyyah of
Nursing.
Best memory in It was Family day at Langkawi Island in 2007. We travelled
KON from Jalan Hospital campus by bus with our respective
families. The time we spent together was fun and enjoyable.

DR SITI MARIAM MUDA

Before joining I was trained as a nurse and had three years of basic nursing
KON training from Kubang Kerian College of Nursing, Ministry
of Health and qualified as a registered nurse in 1994. Then, I
was assigned to work as a nurse for the first time at National
Leprocy Control Centre (Pusat Kawalan Kusta Negara)
Sungai Buloh, Selangor. After two years’ time I was married
and transferred to Kelantan worked at Community Clinic for
almost a year and then to Kota Bharu Hospital (Hospital
Raja Perempuan Zainab II) for another 10 years. I have
offered to serve in academic IIUM in 2007 after 12 years of
service under Ministry of Health.

Expert in The study of Midwifery

Attraction to join I am looking for the opportunity to develop my professional

KON carrier and involved in academic site. Nursing profession
need to be improved and upgraded, and therefore in order to
increase level of nursing education and qualification need
come out from university based.
Expectancy for I wish KON become a model towards a sharia compliance
KON nursing faculty and be a role model for other university in
Malaysia.
Best memory in Be with nursing students who are excited to know more
KON about nursing and fall in love with nursing and be with
colleagues who are struggled to raise KON.
Uniqueness of KON stand on their own faculty or kulliyah and produce a
KON basic degree nursing students.only
