HISTORY 
 This worksheet is intended for supplemental use only. The University will use your Academic Requirements Report (ARR) to track your 
graduation requirements, including those for your major. Please continue to check your Student Center and ARR for accuracy.   
 If your ARR requires a correction, please submit an ARR Correction Form at www.csusm.edu/academicadvising.  
 All courses used for the major and preparation for the major must be completed with a grade of C (2.0) or higher. 
 All non‐articulated courses MUST be reviewed and approved by a faculty advisor. 
 No more than 3 units of independent study and/or internship may be applied toward the major. 
 The History Department strongly recommends that HIST 301 be taken by the beginning of the junior year, as it is a prerequisite for the 
400‐level seminar.

Of the 33 units: One course must have the majority of its content before 1800. Courses must be taken from at least 3 areas that include: 
Africa, Ancient History, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, United States, and Comparative/Transnational History. One course must 
have considerable content on Women’s History/Gender. These requirements may be fulfilled simultaneously with other upper‐division 
History requirements.
