1 Introduction Note:
Do not bend the heater
The standard ADVC Controller is rated for an ambient
elements as it will cause

rating also allows for up to 20°C temperature rise due to
solar radiation. The electronic modules within the ADVC
Controller are rated -40°C to 70°C.
It is therefore possible to extend the operating
temperature of the ADVC Controller for colder climates
by simply adding a battery heater to the controller. This
will extend the operating temperature range down to
-40°C.
When controllers are purchased with the battery heater
option, the installation will be completed in the factory.
However, if battery heaters are purchased separately,
users will have to follow the instructions below to ensure
correct operation.

1.1 Compatibility
The Battery Heater option is available in the following
controllers:
 Controller: ADVC Controller – ULTRA,
 Batteries: 2 x 12V, 12Ah, and
 Firmware: Version A44-09.02 or later.

2 Description
The battery heater comprises a laser cut EPDM mat for insulation and two heater elements wired to a connector.
When installed the EPDM mat folds around the two 12Ah batteries, therefore insulating the batteries from the
colder ambient temperature and keeping the heat generated by the heaters around the batteries. This provides a
very efficient battery heating solution.
