The design principles of SNAPAcoustics Acoustic Louvres are for easy installation and for applications
where space is limited; to provide a superior acoustic performance and low regenerated noise levels under a
wide range of operating conditions.
Aesthetically pleasing, SNAPAcoustics Acoustic Louvres consist of fabricated metal louvre blades with
acoustic infill, alternated with air gaps. The open area of the louvre has been carefully optimized for
maximum air flow and acoustic performance and the entry to each airway is streamlined for low resistance.
The low pressure drop characteristic and the excellent acoustic performance made them popular with
architects and engineers.
Long life and low maintenance of SNAPAcoustics Acoustic Louvres are assured by the use of galvanized
steel, aluminium or stainless steel sheet and inert non-combustible acoustic infill. The acoustic and airflow
performance of the louvres have been determined by testing in laboratories.
SNAPAcoustics Acoustic Louvres are available in S-Line (Slim line), H-Line (High performance), T-Line
(Terrific performance) and V-Line (Versatile performance). Each model is available in depth of 100 mm to 900
mm. Following models are commonly used:
300 S-Line : The specially designed slim blades are set at a pitch of 150 mm and at an angle
which prevents line-of-sight through the louvre, resulting in a remarkable high frequency
acoustic performance and an extremely low pressure drop.
600 S-Line : This model comprises a ‘300 S-line’ as the front or exposed unit and another 300 mm
long unit (similar in construction to the ‘300 S-line’), joining back to back to form a
chevron blade profile.
300 H-Line : The specially designed thick blades are set at a pitch of 300 mm to provide a superior
low frequency acoustic performance.
600 H-Line : This model comprises a ‘300 H-line’ as the front or exposed unit and another 300 mm
long unit (similar in construction to the ‘300 H-line’), joining together to provide an even
greater acoustic performance for extreme applications.
T-Line is very similar to H-Line in appearance but with extra thick blades that are set at a pitch of 300 mm. This
product line provides terrific acoustic performance from low to high frequency bands.
V-Line is designed for superior high frequency acoustic performance. The louvre blades in a chevron profile are
set at a pitch of 300mm and provide versatile acoustic performance.
The rear unit of the ‘600 Line’ models, which is not exposed to the weather, gives extra sound absorption by
sheathing both sides of the louvre blades with perforated galvanized steel sheet.
In most instances, ‘600 Line’ models are generally supplied in a single case. However, for difficult
installations, they can be supplied in two halves. This must be specified at time of ordering.
The acoustic infill of the louvre blades is inert and non-combustible and is retained so that particle fatigue or
corrosion does not occur. Special water repellent infill can be incorporated for installation under severe
weather or where frequent cleansing is needed.
If required, a bird guard manufactured from 25 mm squared galvanized or stainless steel wire can be
supplied to fit to the rear face of all models. SNAPAcoustics Acoustic Louvres are usually supplied in
unpainted form, but if requested they can be supplied powder coated in a choice of standard colours. For
special projects, aluminium or stainless steel finishes can also be provided.

ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE
The acoustic performance of SNAPAcoustics Acoustic Louvres has been determined by laboratories in
accordance with American Standard ASTM E336-67T Section A2.3 ‘Test Procedure for Measuring
Transmission Loss in Non-Laboratory-Like Configurations’, American Standard ASTM E477 or International
Standard ISO 10140-2.
