Sikafloor® CureHard-24
Concrete curing, Hardening and Sealing Compound
Construction
Description A ready to use metallic silicate solution with penetrating aids which reacts
chemically with surface concrete to inhibit moisture evaporation and produce a
hard, crystal - sealed and dust-free finish.
Uses n Curing Fresh Concrete
Applied to horizontal and vertical surface of fresh concrete immediately after
bleed water has disappeared. It prevents mixing water evaporation and
assists in the complete hydration of cement.
n Surface Hardening
Applied to old concrete floor to increase the density of floor surface thus
improving the abrasion resistance and durability of the floor surface.
n Sealing
For green concrete and old concrete floor surface, it reduces permeability
and dusting by sealing the upper layer of concrete surface with the formation
of dense microcrystalline seal.
n Important
The product cannot, however, be expected to make a good and bad
disintegrating concrete.
Characteristics / n Subsequent surface treatments like floor topping or coating can be applied
Advantages without mechanical removal of the applied Sikafloor Curehard 24.
n Clear and non-staining and does not affect the aesthetics of the concrete
surface.
n Non-flammable and non-toxic, hence, safe for the application personnel.
Application and n Fresh Concrete - Apply Sikafloor Curehard 24 with spray equipment after final
Coverage troweling when all bleed water has disappeared. Ensure full wetting of surfaces,
and in any case, apply not less than the coverage specified below. Earliest
practical application when the concrete surface is ready to receive the curing
compound is recommended, so as obtain optimum performance from the
system. For fresh concrete, the application coverage is at the rate of 1 litre per
5.5 sq.m for the first application and 1 litre per 7 sq.m for the second
application.
n Old Concrete Floor - Substrate must be sound, dry and free from any oil,
grease, dust and loosely adhering materials. Sprinkle over surface with the aid
of a plastic watering can, or apply over the substrate with a soft broom or
squeegee. Spread Sikafloor Curehard 24 back and forth over the surface to
ensure maximum and even penetration. Do not allow puddles to form on a flat
surfaces. Normally two coats are sufficient but in some cases, a third coat is
beneficial. Allow a period of 24 hours between coats. A day after the final
treatment, the floor should be washed with clean water. For old concrete floors,
the application coverage is approximately 0.15 - 0.25kg/m² per coat.
