Course Requirements and Policies

1. Attendance is required. A student who is absent for more than THREE (3) times will be
given a grade of 5.0 if he / she does not drop the course before the official last day of
dropping on February 21, 2011.

2. At least FOUR (4) long exams will be given in the course.

3. Any missed long exam (unless with valid reason) will be given a grade of ZERO.

4. The grading system will be as follows:

LQA = (LQ1 + LQ2 + LQ3 + LQ4) / 4

EXEMPTED: Gen. Ave. (GA1) = 90% LQA + 10% SQA&PS

NOT EXEMPTED: Gen. Ave. = 60% GA1 + 40% FINALS

5. A student may be exempted from the final exam if he / she satisfies the following:
a. A General Average (GA1) of 72 or better.
b. No long quiz less than 60% (All LQs are passing).
Note: A student who is exempted from the final exam may opt to take the final
exam wherein he / she has equal chances of increasing / decreasing his grade.
The final grade of a student who is exempted will be based on the General
Average BEFORE Finals (GA1).

6. Long quizzes will be three to four problem solving questions.

7. Complaints will be entertained for a period of one week after the exam result has been
returned.

8. During the exam, observe the following rules:

a. Use only long / yellow pad paper.
b. Write your NAME and SECTION on the upper right hand corner of each page.
Also write your name and numerals I, II, III, and IV at the back of the last page.
c. Start each problem on a new page and enclose your final answer in a box.
d. Use only BLACK or BLUE ink.

9. Cheating in any form will be penalized with a grade of 5.0 and a possible expulsion from
the university.
