provide but we will not consider forms longer than 3 pages (excluding notes, instructions and glossary sections).

It is important this application form demonstrates clearly that your proposed project fulfills the essential criteria:
 The conservation benefits to species and/or habitats;
 The involvement of local counterparts;
 Host country acceptance either from the government, non-government organisations or universities;
 That the majority of project team members are under- or post-graduate students in full or part-time education.

Notes
1 For projects involving threatened species, refer to the appropriate Red Data Book or Action Plan. For
projects involving habitats, quote the relevant Protected Areas Review. See Guidelines for Applicants
for more information about source materials.
2 Your methods section should give details of your proposed project including background, methods,
expected results, and the conservation gain you hope your project will produce.
3 Give the name of the institute in your country of origin that is assisting you with this project.
4 If the project is working outside of the country of origin, give the name of the institute in the host
country that is assisting you.
5 Give the name, age, nationality, expertise, and project role of all of your team members, including any
counterparts. Please state whether they are enrolled in any under or post graduate education
programmes(full or part time).
6 Give details of the permission(s) you will require from governmental bodies in the host country and
the level of recognition that you have gained from non-governmental organisations. Summarise your
activities (give dates) and results thus far.
7 Give a budget (in £ Sterling) itemised under the headings given in the BP Conservation Programme
document ‘Guidelines for Applicants’.
8 List the funding for which you have applied and funds already received .

Glossary
Country of Origin: The country in which the applicants reside.
Host Country: The country in which the project will take place.
Institute: The university, institution, government body or non-governmental organisation assisting with your
project.
Location: The specific area where the project is taking place, such as “Chaco eco-region” or “Noel Kempff
National Park”.
