INTERACTIVE TEACHING

The word interactive can reminds us of people with whom the learner interacts in order to
learn. In the classroom, first we have the children, second, are the student/learners. Beyond the
classroom are the school head and the non-teaching staff. The interaction can be collaborative
and so we have collaborative teaching and learning.

Interactive teaching can be highly beneficial to a student’s learning process. There are multiple
definitions of what exactly interactive teaching is. The common denominator of all of the definitions is
that there is a conversation between the students and the teacher. This method can positively increase
student’s communication skills. The method can be used daily in schools,, yet there is a need for other
teaching methods as well in order to make interactive teaching as successful as possible.

Why do we promote interactive teaching?

1. Learning is an active process.

- Only the student can do the learning for himself. The more intense the involvement, the
better is learning.
Intense - showing strong feelings or opinion
2. Learning is also a social process.
- One way for students to shoulder the responsibility for learning is for them to be the readers,
writers, speakers, listeners, and thinkers in the classroom through active engagement in social
interaction with. We define social interaction as meaningful dialogue among learners. Socially
interactive learners are engaged learners . “The students learn more when they are able to talk to one
another and be actively involved” . In short, social interaction is vital to the learning process.
