The information you provided pertaining to the above referenced case has been
forwarded to CFA’s Protest Committee for further review/investigation. We have written
to the above referenced party for their response to the charges. The response is due in
Central Office by August 4, 2017. This response is then sent to you, the complainant
(the one who filed the protest), who has 14 days (21 days if complainant is outside of US
or Canada) to rebut, in writing (to Central Office), any “new” issues raised in the
response. This case will be reviewed by the CFA Protest Committee, and a
recommendation will be made to the CFA Executive Board. For a full understanding of
the protest procedure, it is important that you read the explanation below.

Explanation of Protest Procedure:

The respondent (party charged) has 21 days (28 days if respondent is outside of US or
Canada) to submit a written response to Central Office (the response date is noted
above). In the absence of a response, a recommendation may be made on the basis of
the strength of the supporting information. This response is then sent to the
complainant (the one who filed the protest) who has 14 days (21 days if complainant is
outside of US or Canada) to rebut, in writing (to Central Office), any “new” issues raised
in the response. Either side could petition the Protest Committee for more time, or
permission to submit additional evidence. After the submission of the case, the Protest
Committee will determine if probable cause exists for conviction (all recommendations
prepared for the CFA Executive Board are confidential). If the recommendation is to
find a party guilty, the report would also recommend sentence under the CFA Boards’
guidelines. The Protest Committee report will be presented at the upcoming board
meeting.

If the CFA Executive Board accepts the recommendation of no probable cause, the case is
marked closed and you will receive notification from the central office electronically
followed by a confirming letter mailed within a few days after the board meeting. If the

recommendation is to find a party guilty, the CFA Board will make its tentative rulings
based on the Protest Committee report and the written submissions of the parties.

After the tentative Board decision, the Complainant(s) and Respondent(s) are notified in
writing of both the decision and the proposed sentence. The Respondent(s) have 30 days
to pay a $250.00 “Appeal Fee” to request a full hearing with oral testimony (fee payable
to CFA, mail to Central Office Attn: Melissa Watson; please show assigned docket # on
all correspondence); Complainant(s) cannot appeal. John Randolph (CFA legal counsel)
will advise you by letter of the scheduled hearing date. The parties may elect whether the
hearing would be closed or public. The hearing would take place at the next available
CFA Board meeting. If the next available Board meeting would be by teleconference, and
you wish to appear in person at the hearing, you may ask that the hearing be held at the
next face to face Board meeting. Such an application should be included in your request
for hearing along with your “Appeal Fee.” The CFA Board would hear and consider any
live testimony and/or additional evidence, along with your complete file. Following the
board meeting, John Randolph would advise you of the Board's action. Once cited for a
hearing, the Protest Committee transfers the case to John Randolph who handles it from
that point on. If a hearing request is not made within 30 days of the tentative decision
notification, the tentative Board decision becomes final.

La información que proporcionó relacionada con el caso mencionado anteriormente se

ha enviado al Comité de Protesta del CFA para su revisión / investigación adicional.
Hemos escrito a la parte mencionada anteriormente por su respuesta a los cargos. La
respuesta se debe a la Oficina Central para el 4 de agosto de 2017. Esta respuesta se envía
a usted, el demandante (el que presentó la protesta), que tiene 14 días (21 días si el
reclamante está fuera de EE.UU. , Por escrito (a la Oficina Central), cualquier "nueva"
cuestión planteada en la respuesta. Este caso será revisado por el Comité de Protesta de
la CFA, y una recomendación será hecha a la Junta Ejecutiva de la CFA. Para una

Explicación del procedimiento de protesta:

El demandado (parte acusada) tiene 21 días (28 días si el demandado está fuera de

Después de la decisión tentativa de la Junta, se notifica por escrito al Demandante (s) y
al Demandado (s) de la decisión y de la oración propuesta. La Demandada (s) tiene 30
días para pagar una "Cuota de Apelación" de $ 250.00 para solicitar una audiencia
