Pre-lesson: (1) Pupils watch The Star Youtube video on the news of
Penang flood.
(2) Pupils share ideas on the contents of the video of they
watch. {Pupils are expected to share ideas on what is
flood and what can cause the flood}
Development stage: (1) Pupils read silently the words and question given by the
teacher. {The question: What are the potential factors that
cause flooding in Penang}
(2) Pupils watch a Youtube video on the causes of flood while
jotting down notes.
(3) In groups, pupils discuss the causes of the flood by using
the ideas from the video and their own idea by completing
bubble map given by the teacher.
(4) Pupils present their multi-flow map in front of the class.
Post-lesson: (1) Pupils summarize the multi-flow map on causes and
advices.

report about flash flood .

*ACTIVITIES : i. PRE-LESSON 1) Pupils will be asked about what they can do if the flash flood
happen to recall what they have learned during last class.
2) Pupils will be given the word wall with pictures and they will
read aloud those words and the meanings.
3) Pupils will be given a newspaper report strip and read it
: silently.

ii. LESSON 1.Pupils work in pairs and use contextual clues with a printed
DEVELOPMENT dictionary to find the correct words of given meaning.

2. Pupils cross check the answer with other pairs in the group.

3. Pupils complete a graphic organizer with specific information


based on the newspaper report.

Differentiation-weaker students will be given choices of


answers in order to fill in the graphic organizer.

iii. POST-LESSON 1 Pupils answer 2 HOTS questions individually based on the


flash flood topic {What the pupils will do if they are the victims
:and how they can handle the situation}.
2. Pupils discuss the answer in group and share it with the
whole class.

LEARNING OUTLINE Pre-lesson

1.Pupils see a few pictures on flood.


2. They answer open ended questions on how they can relate those
pictures to real life situations.
3. Pupils learn to write simple sentences about the pictures shown by
filling in gaps of the sentences.

Lesson Delivery

1.Pupils imagined that they are the flash flood victims {pupils use prior
knowledge from the previous lesson} and complete the flow map given
with flash flood experience.
2. Pupils write a recount of two paragraphs sharing about his/her flood
experience based on the completed flow map.

Post Lesson:

1.Pupils share their completed recount to the whole class.


2.Pupils modify their recount according to the feedback given by the
teacher.
