Figure 1.1:Stratigraphic Correlation.Red Ellips are the non-shale interval

A.There are about 8 stratigraphic correlations. They are layers in between line 1-2, line 2-3, line 3-4,line 5-6, line
6-7,line 8-9, line 9-10

B.Most probably that the 6 non shale intervals are in between :line 7-line 8, line 4 - line 5,line 2-line 3,line 9-
line 10,line 1-line 2,line 6-line 7.In between Line 7 and line 8 we see that there are high resistivity and low
gamma ray respon in well 2 this is probably the sandstonestone with very small quantity of shale or we can say
that it is a very mature sandstone or pure sandstone with very little amount of radioactive element even K-
Feldspar(in other word it is quartz dominated sandstone) or the sandstone with pore filled with the gas,in well
3,4 and well 1 we see high resistivity but not very low gamma ray and this could also be said sandstone contain
some thorium or uranium and in well 5 we can say that the sandstone is probably containing shale due to the
lower resistivity than other well.In between line 4-line 5 we see that well 3 and well 4 shows almost the same
respond as line 7-line 8 in well 2 but the amplitude is different so we can say that perhaps the quantity of shale
in well 3 and well 4 in between line 4-line 5 is bigger than the line 7-line 8 or perhaps the sandstone contain
little quantity of radioactive element(maybe K-Feldspar)but the rest show the same sandstone with almost the
same quantity of shale or almost the same quantity of radioactive element.Line 6-line 7 shows the decreasing
in gamma ray respond and tendency to increase resistivity,we can say that this is probably sandstone with
different amount shale matrix(probably shaley sandstone) in every depth. So almost all of the in between lines
except in between line 7-line 8 and line 4-line 5 are sandy mudstone or sandstone contain water inside it’s pore
due to their fluctuations in gamma ray and resistivity log

(Notes:This interpretation is made without considering magnitude of gamma ray and resistivity so it can be
changed if the magnitude is present).

C.According to the layer that has been determined above we know that the sandstone layer is dominating all
stratigraphic.We see in line 7-line 8, line 4 - line 5,line 2-line 3,line 9-line 10,line 1-line 2,line 6-line 7.In between
Line 7 and line 8 is actually non-shale intervals.

Figure 1.2:The prediction of layers based on gamma ray log interpretation

We see that this kind of layering is common in fluvial braiding system where the sediment dominantly are
coarse sands(for about two or more layers)overlying the shale. These layers can say that there is changing in
velocity of stream where sometimes slow in downstream so that it can deposite the shale but sometimes fast
so that bedload can appear and sand deposition process can occur. The Fluvial brading system is very well
known for it’s high flow and steep slope so that’s why we see the layers are dominantly the sandstone(the
sandstone could form the bedform).
