El adobe y otros sistemas constructivos a base
de tierra son aceptados y conocidos por la ma-
yoría de la población norteña y de las ciuda-
des coloniales, que tradicionalmente construyen
sus viviendas y edificios en tierra. Con un enfo-
que en el rescate de las tradiciones constructi-
vas locales y el uso de tecnologías apropiadas,
pretendemos fortalecer el desarrollo sostenible
nos planteamos en AMCC, mismo que esperamos
repercuta efectivamente en el mejoramiento de
la calidad de vida de las mujeres y sus familias.
Con la sexta edición de este curso espera-
mos continuar motivando el conocimiento por
la construcción natural, mediante el acerca-
miento a los materiales, técnicas constructivas,
mejoras a los sistemas de construcción con tie-
rra y el intercambio cultural e intergeneracional.
INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCCIÓN
Adobe and other earth building systems are fa-
miliar to most people and used, particularly in
northern Nicaragua and in many colonial cities
countrywide. There is a tradition of building homes
and other structures in earth, which, like in many
parts of the world, is promoted by individuals,
organisations, technicians and professionals,
all people interested in local conservation and
sustainable development. With a focus on main-
taining these local traditions and using appro-
priate technologies, we intend to strengthen the
AMCC sustainable development proposal, aimed
at improving women’s lives and of their families.
With the sixth edition of this course, we hope
to continue encouraging an understanding
about natural building, from the use of mate-
rials, application of building techniques, and
improvement of earth building systems throu-
gh cultural and intergenerational exchange.

DIRIGIDO A:

GENERALIDADES
Mujeres jóvenes y constructores del norte de Nicaragua, a estudiantes de las carreras de
ingeniería civil y arquitectura, a visitantes extranjeras/os y nicaragüenses interesadas/os
en la construcción con tierra; todos con un mínimo de sexto grado de primaria aprobado.

FECHAS Y HORARIO:
El curso inicia el día lunes 22 de enero y finaliza el día viernes 16 de febrero del año
2018.
En horarios de 8:00 am a 4:30 pm (con pausas para recesos y almuerzo).

COSTO:
El curso tiene un costo de U$200.00 para estudiantes nacionales y U$ 500.00 para
estudiantes extranjeros.
Si eres una mujer joven o constructor de la zona norte de Nicaragua consulta sobre opor-
tunidades de beca (la postulación a becas cierra el día lunes 08 de enero de 2018).

 PROGRAMA
En un periodo de cuatro semanas las y los participantes podrán introducirse a la construcción con
tierra, estudiar y conectar con el material tierra, estudiaran dos sistemas constructivos autoportantes
(uno de ellos adaptado para zonas sísmicas), además de dos sistemas constructivos livianos, realiza-
ran experimentaciones en tierra y durante la última semana estudiaran todo lo referente a acabados
en tierra (repellos, pinturas, esculturas).

 SCHEDULE
During the course, participants will begin with knowledge sharing and learning about earth construction,
studying and connecting with the earth as a building material. Then they will learn about two load bea-
ring systems (one of them adapted for seismic regions), and two lightweight construction systems. They
will also experiment in earth and during the last week, they will study about different earth rendering and
finishes (plasters, paintings, sculptures).

 METODOLOGÍA
Se empleará la metodología aprender haciendo,
por medio de la cual se desarrollan los diferentes
contenidos del curso poniéndolos en práctica en
la construcción de la segunda etapa del taller
de soldadura, la construcción de un muro perime-
tral y murales en edificio multiusos, todo esto en las
insta-laciones de AMCC.
Las y los participantes estarán todo el tiempo, en
contacto directo con los materiales, herramientas
y sistemas constructivos.
METHODOLOGY
AMCC uses learning-by-doing and popular edu-
cation methodology in all of its courses and tra-
ining. On this course participants can develop
their skills and do hands-on work on the second
stage of the welding workshop building, the cons-
truction of a perimeter wall, and by rendering walls
and creating murals, all on the AMCC premises.
The participants will participate full-time, in direct
contact with the materials, tools and constructive
systems.
CERTIFICACIÓN
Las/os participantes al completar el curso recibi-
rán un certificado por parte de la Escuela de For-
mación Técnica de la Asosiacion Mujeres Cons-
tructoras de Condega.
Como nuestros cursos son avalados por el Tec-
nológico Nacional (INATEC) para las/os partici-
pantes nacionales que deseen tramitar este cer-
tificado, al finalizar el curso deberán pagar C$
200.00 (Doscientos córdobas netos). Aclaramos
que esta tramitación toma un tiempo; por lo que
la/el participante deberá dejar su información de
contac-to a la AMCC para que se le notifique el
momento en que el certificado haya sido emitido.
CERTIFICATION
The participants, upon completing the course, will
receive a certificate from the AMCC. The Natio-
nal Technological Institute (INATEC) authorises
courses, for Nicaraguans who wish to receive this
certificate at the end of the course there is a fee
of C$ 200.00 (Two hundred córdobas). This pro-
cess can take a while; so the participant must lea-
ve their contact information with the AMCC to be
notified when the certificate has been issued.

La Asociación Mujeres Constructoras de Condega – AMCC, es una organización autónoma de
mujeres, con 30 años de experiencia en la formación técnica y en la defensa de derechos, crea-
da alrededor de la construcción de una escuela de primaria del municipio de Condega en 1987
y posteriormente como ONG inscrita desde 1990.
Brinda una educación integral en un ambiente seguro, propio y abierto para experimentar, con
condiciones para el desarrollo de las capacidades de las jóvenes y adultas/os y la promoción
de prácticas amigables con el medio ambiente.
Desde al año 2011 que AMCC adquirió un terreno más amplio se inició a experimentar con sis-
temas constructivos de tierra, desde entonces, en el campo de la construcción con tierra, AMCC
ha impartido un total de seis cursos de construcción natural, tres cursos de adobe mejorado y
veintiséis talleres de construcción natural dentro y fuera del departamento.

 Arq. DULCE MARÍA GUILLÉN
Arquitecta de origen nicaragüense, graduada de la Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería en el año
1995, con amplia trayectoria en el campo del diseño, restauración, asesoramiento, construcción e
investigación de técnicas de construcción natural, especialmente el sistema de adobe mejorado ha-
ciendo aportes al sistema tradicional de Nicaragua en base a normas sismo resistentes, especialista
en Diseño Participativo de proyectos sociales y de Desarrollo Urbano.

Desde el año 2006 ha colaborado con la AMCC, apoyando a la organización en el diseño parti-
cipativo de su nuevo local, construido principalmente en adobe mejorado, y apoyo la facilitación de
los primeros talleres sobre adobe mejorado. Actualmente es asesora en la actualización periódica
del plan maestro de la AMCC y desde 2014, es co-facilitadora en los cursos anuales de construc-
ción natural.

 Red MesoAmeri-Kaab:
Arq. Sandy Minier:
Arquitecta de origen francés radicando en México, egresada de
la Escuela Nacional Superior de Arquitectura de Grenoble (EN-
SAG, Grenoble, Francia), con maestria en “Arquitectura de tierra,
culturas constructivas y desarrollo sustentable” por parte del La-
boratorio CRAterre (Francia), responsable de la Cátedra UNES-
CO del mismo.
Desde el 2002, trabaja en un proceso de búsqueda de alternativas de desarrollo sustentable princi-
palmente en México y América Central con el propósito de revivir las técnicas tradicionales del adobe
y del bahareque como alternativas viables en la producción social de la vivienda. Promueve una estra-
tegia basada en el rescate y la valorización de la identidad cultural, que favorece un desarrollo local.

Desde el 2007, trabaja como consultora-cooperante AGEH-Misereor para la zona mesoamericana

(AGEH : Asociación alemana de Cooperación para el desarrollo / Misereor : Agencia Católica de
Cooperación Alema-na), con el fin de reforzar la red de la Plataforma MesoAmeri-Kaab (copartes de
México, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua y Guatemala).

Desde el 2011, colabora con el IMDEC (Instituto Mexicano para el Desarrollo Comunitario A.C.) apo-
yando las copartes de Misereor de México y Centroamérica. Actualmente es la Consultora-Consejera
de la Red MesoAme-ri-Kaab (Red MAK).

La Red MesoAmeri-Kaab es una red integrada por organizaciones de la sociedad civil y personas
dedicadas a la producción social del hábitat con materiales locales, a la agro-ecología, a la defensa
del territorio en el respe-to de las culturas locales y de su entorno. La plataforma se constituye en un
espacio de reflexión que favorece los intercambios para reforzar los procesos de incidencia y de pro-
ducción social de vivienda, encaminándolos a la valorización de la identidad cultural y al respeto del
medio ambiente.
Con una comunicación fluida y oportuna la red pretende: Mejorar las condiciones de vida de segmen-
tos frágiles de la población, elaborar una estrategia conjunta de incidencia institucional, respetar las
formas tradicionales de organización y las tradiciones constructivas de los pueblos mesoamericanos y
re-aprender el aprovechamiento de materiales regionales mediante el uso responsable de los recursos

naturales.
 FUNDASAL:
Ing. Rosa Delmi Núñez
Ing. Magda Castellanos Ochoa:

La Ing. Rosa Delmi Núñez es Ingeniera Civil y Master en Administración de empresas. Facilitadora del
módulo de Adobe Reforzado en el Curso de Construcción Natural de 2017. Jefa del Departamento
de Construcción, coordi-nadora de proyectos de Vivienda y Hábitat e investigadora del Centro de
Tecnologías Constructivas de FUNDA-SAL. Miembro presidente de la Red Iberoamericana PROTERRA y
miembro de la Red Meso-Amerikaab.

La Ing. Magda Castellanos Ochoa es Ingeniera civil y Master en Desarrollo Local. Facilitadora del mó-
dulo de Adobe Reforzado en el Curso de Construcción Natural de 2017. Investigadora del Centro de
Tecnologías Cons-tructivas de FUNDASAL y coordinadora de procesos de transferencia de sistemas
constructivos con materiales alternativos a diferentes niveles de la población. Facilita capacitaciones
a pobladores en procesos para la cons-trucción de sus viviendas. Miembro de la Red Iberoamericana
PROTERRA y la Red Meso-Amerikaab.

La Fundación Salvadoreña de Desarrollo y Vivienda Mínima es una organización no gubernamental

cuya misión es potenciar la producción social de hábitat sustentable, a través de generación de pro-
cesos de participación protagónica y organizada de la población. En la búsqueda del mejoramiento
del hábitat FUNDASAL promueve la investigación, formación y transferencia de tecnologías alternativas
desde la perspectiva de gestión de riesgo y enfoque bio-climático, para potenciar la participación
de la población en la producción social del hábitat. En el marco de estos procesos de transferencia
apoya los procesos de investigación y promoción de la construcción con materiales alternativos como
el Adobe Reforzado, sistema que rescata las tradiciones constructivas de la región y promueve el uso
de recursos locales.

The team consists of facilitators and instructors, professionals who are specialised in earth building;
is made up of architecture and engineering students and trainee graduates of AMCC natural buil-
ding courses, all with training and experience in earth building.

AMCC was originally founded during the construction of a primary school in the mu-
nicipality of Condega in 1987, the group registering itself as an NGO in 1990.
Mission:
AMCC is an autonomous women’s organization, with 30 years of experience in technical training
and women’s rights, AMCC provides integral education on its own premises, a safe environment
with space to experiment, and conditions to develop capacities with young people and adults
and the promotion of environmentally friendly practices.
In 2012, AMCC started using earth-building systems, since then, AMCC has held six natural building
courses and three improved adobe courses, and twenty-six natural building construction workshops,
on and off site.

 DULCE MARÍA GUILLÉN Arch.
Architect of Nicaraguan origin, she graduated from the National University of Engineering in 1995, and
has wide experience in design, restoration, teaching and support, construction and research of natural
building techniques. Her focus is specially on the improved adobe system, contributing to the Nicara-
guan building tradition by applying anti-seismic standards. She is a specialist in participatory design of
social projects and urban development.

From 2006, she has collaborated with AMCC, supporting the organisation in the participative design
of the new premises, which is mainly in improved adobe, and she supported the facilitation of the first
improved adobe workshops. Currently she supports the periodic updating of the master plan of the
AMCC, and since 2014, she has been a facilitator on the annual natural building courses.

 Red MesoAmeri-Kaab:
Sandy Minier Arch.:
French architect residing in Mexico, she graduated from the
National Superior School of Architecture of Grenoble (ENSAG,
Grenoble, France), with a masters in “Earth Architecture, Cons-
tructive Cultures and Sustainable Development” at the CRAterre
Laboratory (France), of which she is the UNESCO Chair.
Since 2002, she has been working on research about sustainable development alternatives, mainly in
Mexico and Central America, with the aim of reviving traditional techniques in adobe and bahareque in
the social production of housing.

Since 2007, she has worked as a consultant-development worker in AGEH-Misereor for the Mesoameri-
can region y since 2011, she has collaborated with IMDEC (Mexican Institute for Community Develop-
ment, A.C.), supporting MISEREOR partners in Mexico and Central America. She is currently the Consul-
tant-Counsellor of the MesoAmeri-Kaab Network (MAK Network).
The MesoAmeri-Kaab Network is a network made up of civil society organisations and people dedica-
ted to the social production of dwellings with local materials, to agro-ecology and land rights of local
cultures and their environment. The platform is a space for reflection that promotes exchange on support
for social production of housing, to enable cultural identity appreciation and respect for the environment.

Through fluid and appropriate communication, the network aims to improve the living conditions of vulne-
rable segments of the population, to develop a joint strategy of institutional influence, to respect tradi-
tional forms of organization and the constructive traditions of Mesoamerican peoples and to re-learn the
use of local materials through the responsible use of natural resources.

Rosa Delmi Núñez Eng.
Magda Castellanos Ochoa Eng.:
Delmy Núñez Eng.:
Civil engineer from El Salvador, with a master’s degree in business administration. She is head of the
Department of Construction, Housing and Habitat, is the project coordinator and researcher at the
Centre for Building Technologies of FUNDASAL. She is president of the Ibero-American Network, PRO-
TERRA and member of the MesoAmeri-Kaab Network.
In 2017, she was co-facilitator on the AMCC’s annual natural building course.
Magda Castellanos Eng.:
Civil engineer and teacher in local development, from El Salvador. She is a researcher at the Centre
for Building Technologies of FUNDASAL and coordinator of processes of change in building systems
with alternative materials, with different sectors of the population. She facilitates training for residents
who are building their homes and a member of the Ibero-American Network PROTERRA and the Me-
soAmeri-Kaab Network.
In 2017, she was a co-facilitator on the AMCC’s annual natural building course.
The Salvadoran Foundation for Development and Minimum Housing, FUNDASAL, is a non-governmen-
tal organization whose mission is to promote the social production of sustainable housing, by gene-
rating hands-on practice and organized participation of the population. In the pursuit for improved
housing, FUNDASAL promotes research, training and the transferal of alternative technologies, with
the perspective of risk management and a bio-climatic approach, to enhance the participation of
people in the social production of their own housing. Within the framework of these processes, FUN-
DASAL supports research and the promotion of building with alternative materials such as Reinforced
Adobe, a system that revives the building traditions of the region and promotes the use of local
resources.

ALIMENTACIÓN Y ESTADÍA:
El costo del curso no incluye alimentación; pero durante el curso la AMCC ofrece el servicio de alimentación que
incluye almuerzo y refrigerios por un costo de C$ 150.00 por día (ciento cincuenta córdobas netos).

Esto es opcional pues también puedes traer tu propia comida y acompañarnos en nuestro quiosco cafetín.

Sobre el alojamiento, aunque es nuestra intención, tristemente en AMCC aún no contamos con las condiciones

- Once registered, we will expect you on Monday, January 22, 2017 at AMCC at 8:00 am (Participants who will be
travelling to Condega are asked to arrive the day before to guarantee punctuality on the course)

FOOD AND STAY:

The cost of the course does not include food; but during the course, AMCC offers food that includes lunch,
coffee and snacks for a cost of C$150.00 per day (one hundred and fifty cordobas). This is optional as you
can also bring your own food and join us at our cafe kiosk.
Accommodation, in AMCC we still do not have the conditions to host students, so we provide them with con-

- Botas de cuero y botas de hule.
- Guantes de cuero.
- Cinta métrica.

Nota: Por favor no traer niñas/os o mascotas durante el curso.
