Details of the scholarship scheme are available on the website of Indian Council for Cultural Relations - ICCR (the nodal department in Ministry of External Affairs for administering the scheme) and interested students may register their applications at http://205.147.97.190/iccr/home/register 3. Applicants may be informed that Indian universities/educational institutions are autonomous and, hence they have their own eligibility criteria. Forwarding of applications is, thus, not a guarantee of admission. A scholarship is awarded only when admission is confirmed. In this regard, prospective students should do due diligence and research on the specific admission criteria laid down by the various Universities for each subject and ensure that they submit all relevant documents as required by the Universities in addition to the basic certificates mentioned in the application form. For this, they may refer to information on websites of Association of Indian Universities (http:/ / www.aiu.ac.in/Members/MemberA.asp) and University Grants Commission’s (http://www.uge.ac.in/) and the concerned institute’s website for all eligibility criteria. The students who apply for the aforementioned scholarship scheme should have excellent command over the English language. It may also be noted that no airfare is provided to the students selected under the General Scholarship Scheme (GSS) and it is compulsory for all ICCR sponsored students to stay in hostels within the premises of their universities and no request to stay outside the campus would be entertained after the admission procedures are completed.
