Man: OK. Well, there are drum lessons and guitar
lessons in the club in August, but they finish
after the school holiday. There aren’t any
music activities now, I’m afraid. But the ‘learn
to juggle’ classes start this week, on the 15th
of September.
Girl: Brilliant! I love juggling!
Man: You can choose classes on Monday or on
Thursday. They are from three o’clock to
five o’clock on Monday, or from six o’clock to
eight o’clock on Thursday.
Girl: Thursday from six o’clock to eight o’clock is
perfect for me. Thank you.
Man: OK, great. Can I help you with anything else?
Girl: Yes, my brother wants to come to the club
as well. He likes making things, like model
planes and cars.
Man: How old is your brother?
Girl: He’s ten.
Man: Perfect. There’s a weekend in October all
about making model ships. You have to be
at least eight to do that, so your brother
can come, no problem. The price for that
weekend is £15 if you come on Saturday and
Sunday, or £10 for just one day.

Hello! Do you know how to play chess? Maybe you
like watching other people play, but you don’t play
because you think it’s too difficult?
Now there’s a website that can help you learn to be
a good chess player. It’s called kidschess.
Here’s some information about the game. Chess
is more than 1,000 years old. Two players play in
each game and they use a board with 64 squares.
Each player moves 16 pieces around the board.
To win the game, you need to ‘capture’ the other
player’s king. This move is called ‘checkmate’.
