You are on page 1of 1

You are like Mary Poppins… practically perfect in every way.

In order to get an ‘A’ you need to be pre-

pared for class every day, ask good questions during lectures and discussion groups, and demonstrate a de-
sire to learn on a daily basis. You must also always be on task. All assigned reading must be finished and
your knowledge of the works must be obvious. It should also be clear that you are consistently engaged in
the note-taking-for-learning process, and timely and helpful at giving feedback on Eli.
You read every day and share suggestions with peers.
You are an asset to the class.

You have your moments of brilliance, but may not be consistent enough to earn an ‘A”. Earning a ‘B’
means that you are not quite working to your potential, but you take care of the basic things that are asked
of you. Your participation in discussion groups is adequate. You are generally on-task. All assigned read-
ing is finished but you may not follow-up on the works with questions. You may need to prepare more
thoroughly by using the note-taking-for-learning process. You read when asked to, but do not seek good
books independently.
You are frequently an asset to the class.

You could do a better job of being prepared for class. You participate sporadically, and may be off-task
during discussion groups, note-taking, activities, lectures, or projects. It has been obvious on-occasion
that you are not engaged with the course material. You need to work harder to participate and be pre-
pared for class. Assigned reading is not always completed and you have a limited independent reading life.
Your lack of participation in class can be a liability at times.

You are frequently unprepared for class. You may also be frequently off-task, and your behavior may be
negative. Your behavior may be distracting to the other members of the class.
You avoid reading, and evade engaging with peers in Eli.
Your lack of participation in class is a liability.
