Abstract

This project is concerned with the design and development of Clinic
Information System. The Clinic information system allows patients to view the details
of many hospitals and to fix appointment with doctors without even going to the
hospital itself under one website. From the client’s view, it is a Herculean task to surf all
the websites of each hospital and find the details about the doctors and fix appointment
with them. This site is designed to provide facilities like fixing an appointment with a
doctor from anywhere in India. The project entitled Clinic Information System is
developed to provide an efficient help for patients. The reason for choosing this topic is
that right now Internet is s very popular and many people have access to the Internet.
Since majority of people want information about health delivery systems and hospitals,
a project such as Clinic Information System has vital importance.

1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 General Overview of the Problem
Well these days mostly all the good hospitals have their own website. But
it would be impossible for a patient to check the website of each hospital as
there are so many good hospitals within a particular city or even towns these
days. There can also be a case when a person is new to a place and he does not
have information about the good hospitals in that area. Or these days many
people who have a job are very busy and do not have the time to go to the
hospitals and fix an appointment themselves.

1.2 Problem Definition

These days many online health consultant sites are available where a
patient can interact with a real doctor online and get medical advices. But very
few sites provide a medium through which a patient can get an appointment
with a doctor online in nearby hospitals. Consulting doctors online provide some
relief to patients but can never be as reliable as seeing a doctor first hand for
real. As there are very few hospitals which provide this facility it can be of great
help to the patients.
1.3 Proposed Solution Strategy:
Through this site we provide the needed facility to the patient i.e. getting an
appointment with the doctor online. This site makes the work of patient very
easy by providing the information about hospitals and doctors according to their
needs like location, specialty etc .Through this site the patient can also see the
various doctors available and on what particular days they are available, their
specialty, their details etc.

1.4 Analysis of the Problem

1.4.1 Feasibility Study
The problem must be made more obvious. At the start or initial phase of the
project, it will be in an abstract state and needs to concretize. To achieve that, the
requirement of managing the information in real life has to be studied and analyzed.
One of the reasons for doing that is to draw out the borders of the problem. After the
borders have been realized, the problem can be divided into several parts and handle
must more easily and efficiently.
1.5 Literature survey:
