Nine Star Ki: An Overview

In ancient times, it was believed that the universal Ki energy started its journey from deep within
the cosmos. This energy was filtered primarily by nine stars - thus the name Nine Star Ki was born.
The stars which filter this energy begin with the star Vega (Yin energy) continue through the stars
of Ursa Major (The Plough/The Great Bear) and pass finally through Polaris (Yang energy).
Each of the stars energy will wax (increase in strength) and wane (decrease in strength) with three
stars being predominant at any one time.
These are known as the timeliest star, the past timely star and the future timely star. At the time
of your birth, these particular stars would infuse you with characteristics and supply your own
personal chemistry or ki.
The stars are numbered 1 – 9 and each corresponds to a trigram, one of the five elements
/transformations and a compass direction from the Magic Square.

Your personal chemistry or ki has three types of energy. The first and most important is known as
your Adult number and is drawn from the influences of the timeliest star. It comprises 60% of your
make up. The qualities associated with the adult number will usually begin to show in an individual
by the age of 18 years old.

The adult number is associated with your potential, the emphasis being on your strengths. It also
represents your basic values and deepest nature.

As you gain an understanding and appreciation of the qualities associated with your adult number
you will discover essential information on how you can progress through your life. This will prove
very useful when you are developing a long-term strategy for success and happiness.

A further 20% derives from your childhood number and denotes your relationship with friends and
family and those closest to you. It is drawn from the influence of the future timely star.

The final 20% of your ki comes from your First Impressions number (past timely star) and this
examines how you are viewed in the outside world in any given time period.

The Nine Star Ki system of astrology is first and foremost a study of energy and time. It looks at
each of our lives in terms of nine year, nine month and nine day cycles.

Your Nine Star Ki numbers

Depending on your date of birth, you will have 3 specific numbers associated with you:

Your Adult number

Your Childhood number
Your First Impressions number

For example the numbers 187, are for a person born in a 1 Water year. Their adult number is 1, their
childhood (central) number is 8 and their first impressions number is 7.
Taken in their entirety, there are 81 possible combinations of adult, childhood and first impression
numbers. Each of these combinations is known as a “Personality Profile” and one of these belongs
to you.

This method is based on the solar calendar and begins on 4th February each year. Therefore anyone
born between the 1st January and midnight on the 3rd February in any given year, must refer to the
previous year when calculating their adult number. For example, if you were born on February 2nd
1972, the year you should actually refer to is 1971.
