I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the 48-minute discussion, the students should be expected to:

 familiar with the usage and functions of the six verb tenses (Simple Tenses and Progressive
Tenses);
 identify the appropriate verb tense to be used in the sentences provided; and,
 formulate sentences containing verb tenses

III. PROCEDURE

A. Motivation

Simulation Game:

 The teacher will greet the students and ask them if they have taken their breakfast/snacks.
 The teacher will then group the students into four teams: The Flash, The Green Lantern, The
Wonderwoman and The Superman.
 The students will be given words inside the box drawn onto the board, and they will arrange those
words under the category of time: Present, Past and Future; and under the category of frequency:
Before, Sometimes, Always, On Going, and Sooner.

D. Abstraction

 The students will be tasked to write a three-sentence reflection on the importance of Verb Tenses.
Their written composition must also contain verb tenses.

E. Practices
 The students will be given exercises and ask them to answer on the board the proper verb tense to
be used in the sentences provided.

IV. Assessment/Evaluation

 The teacher will provide a five item quiz on verb tenses.
