So teachers, what do you have in mind on this very first day of the

schooling session? Strategies? Goal setting? Preparing suitable learning

materials? Designing a better classroom teaching?

Very well... As far as learning and teaching are concerned, all of us

basically have great ideas, great determinations, great goals and so forth
for our dearest children.

Despite the so-mentioned PPSR, UPSR is still relevant in terms of achieving

good results and grades.

High-achievers still need to excel while low-achievers must be able to

acquire the minimal learning skills so that they could get a grade, better
than E.

For the time being, let's focus what we should do to our students in the
first place when we enter their classroom.

The following is actually meant much for our weak ones:

1. Learning Housekeeping
Check students' pencil case. Do they have sufficient tools to write? Do they
housekeep their writing tools properly?

2. A short test on mechanical writing

Distribute a pre-made passage, about a hundred words. Make students
within the given time, copy the text. Observe how they hold their pencil.
Observe how "nice" they copy the text too. During this session, teachers
will finally be able to evaluate the students Writing legibility.
3. Test, teach and demonstrate the 10 Basic Regular Past Tense Action
Verbs commonly used in Writing Practice:
3.1 walked
3.2 lived
3.3 watched
3.4 shouted

Please be advised that there is no point stressing on other grammar
elements such as Adjectives, Adverbs etc when students have yet to
master the basic verbs which are actually the pulse of sentences.

6.6 them
6.7 his
6.8 her
6.9 their
6.10 it
Ignore other pronouns such as:
mine, hers, theirs, myself, himself, themselves etc as weak students don't
really need these.
7. Teach and demonstrate students on how to write sentences according to
length.

9. Teach and demonstrate students on how to use these common verbs in

various contexts:

9.2 were
Examples:
