MODEL ANSWER (PURA)
To provide urban amenities, the rural areas need proper road or transportation
facility is the major component. Transport of persons and materials is crucial for the
development process. Lack of connectivity will not attract employees to setup their
firms because the initial investment will be huge.
Another important component is the electricity where the entrepreneurs and workers
considers to be essential to do business. India still behind in providing electricity to
rural areas, even if we have surplus energy. Our distribution system still fired it
difficult to connect the rural population to the electricity hub. This undercuts the
communication and mobile connectivity which leaves the rural industries
unsustainable.
So, in order to develop the rural areas to house the urban amenities, authorities
need to rectify the connectivity problems which ensures basic service to upgrade
the rural areas. The failure of the ‘PURA’ scheme to achieve the full stretched target
is mainly due to the foundational problem, i.e. is the connectivity.
Proper implementation of the basic amenities through concerned schemes like Deen
Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana etc.
needs to be paved to be the plinth for the developmental process. These schemes
will provide much needed service to house the urban facilities to achieve the
Gandhi’s dream of “Sustainable Village”.
(c) ELECTRICITY
• Present situation electricity can be considered as basic needs of human life.
• Communication systems and technology equipment’s are working with
electricity. Without electricity, we cannot provide any new technological
innovations.
• Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana should be implemented properly to
achieve regular supply of electricity.
So, to achieve rural development and for providing urban amenities, connectivity
is a primary requirement. With the proper implementation and regular functioning
of such amenities can be achieved through proper connectivity of road, water,
electricity, etc.
A3. With 60-70% of population living in rural areas, rural development is a vital goal
India need to achieve. Providing infrastructure facilities to rural population can be
successful only if it is supplemented with connectivity such as water, road
electricity etc.
Just providing urban life facilities is not sufficient for reveal development. Only
connectivity can ensure people have access to it. If roads electricity and such other
connectivity is provided then there will be long term benefits of educated youth and
electrified village.
