DEBATE

“I may be wrong and you may be right and, by an effort, we may get nearer the
truth”

Debate is a formal contest of argument between two teams or individuals.


Debate gives you an opportunity to prove your outspoken qualities. If a debate
is a form of argument then it logically follows that there must be something to
argue about. This is called the TOPIC.

TOPICS:
 Is the co-education arrangement a good idea?
 Does the boarding school system benefit children?
 Will posting student’s grades on bulletin boards publically motivate them
to perform better?
 Is democracy practiced in all its sincerity?
 The poor hardly ever benefit from development programmes?

RULES:
Affirmative must:

- define the topic.

Negative must:

- reject the definition. If you don't do this it is assumed that you accept the
decision.

- rebut a few of the main points of the affirmative speaker.

 A candidate should not exceed beyond 150 secs.


 Use of abusive and envoking political thoughts is prohibited.
