I. Highlights

 Special Weather Communiqué for Rodrigues issued at 12 30 hours on Friday 12 January 2018.
 NEOC Level II downgraded to Level I on 12th January 2018 at 13 45 hours.
 Chitrakoot in Termination Stage as from 09h36
 Signal Mountain Health Track is still closed.
 No Evacuees in Emergency Shelters.
 Slope failure along M3 between Ripailles to Valton – only 2 lanes operational between 0600 hrs
and 1800 hrs. Closed as from 1800 hrs till 0600 hrs.

II. Situation Overview

GENERAL SITUATION:
(I) Clouds associated with an instability line are approaching the island from the East and will influence the local
weather tomorrow.
(II) On the other hand, the marked low pressure area is still evolving to the North-East of Rodrigues at about 600
km and is moving in a general South-South-Westerly direction at about 13 km/h.
FORECAST FOR NEXT 24 HOURS:
Fair weather over the whole island during the night and tomorrow morning. Gradually cloudy tomorrow during
the day with scattered showers. The showers will be more frequent to the East, to the south and over the
Central Plateau and could be moderate at times.
