Capstone Project Title: Social Media Coordinator for Rippl

Project Description

My project is to work with Rippl of Nashville as a social media coordinator. Rippl is a

non-profit organization that collects new and used shoes to create jobs in

developing areas of the world. As a social media coordinator, I create Facebook and

Instagram posts and campaigns using company photos to promote awareness and

encourage shoe drives. I also reach out to businesses and organizations for shoe

drives. When the businesses and organizations hold drives, I create media specific

material to promote their drive for them. We have partnered with Erik Lindsey at

NeedLink of Nashville for their Rudolph’s Red Nose Run. During this partnership, I

am in direct contact with Erik so that I may provide media materials to him for

NeedLink’s social media and the members of his board.

Capstone Rationale

I am interested in this project because it utilizes my skills as an upcoming

instructional designer for a non-profit organization rather than on an educational

platform. My goal is to support Rippl’s efforts through outreach, shoe drive

registration, and social media creations.

Project Objectives

1. Create and post social media content to promote shoe drives.

2. Reach out to businesses and organizations to hold a shoe drive.

3. Partner with businesses and organizations hosting a shoe drive to tailor

media information to their needs.

Setting

Due to placement, the project took place remotely. Communication was held

through conference calls, email, Google Suite and text messaging. As a final piece to

the project, shoe drive shoes were delivered from Lookout Valley Elementary in

Chattanooga to Soles for Souls in Nashville.

Evaluation Plan

The evaluation plan to assess the project is based upon completion of the key

performance indicators (KPIs) set in the initial phase. Data has been collected based

upon outreach, media posts, and shoe drives and will be used to measure the impact

of the project.
