ABSTRACT
Welding is the process of connecting materials that produces melting material
through the proper temperature warming. The quality of the welding results
depend largely on the expertise of its users and preparation before the
implementation of welding. This research is about the comparative material
tensile and metallography properties of carbon steel ASTM A285 Grade C for
boiler applications conducted by the method of SMAW and MIG welding. The
parameters used i.e current is 170 A, voltage is 25 V, electrode E7018 for SMAW,
and electrode ER70S-6 for MIG. The testings which conducted are tensile test and
metallography test.
