CHAPTER I

Rationale

This is the one that almost all of the teenagers are linked into. The thing which

the teenagers are most focus of and which they give more time. The users of it are

getting larger everyday. The video games are getting more popular and the availability is

already open to any media platforms. There are already games that can be downloaded

in mobile phones that can be access easily by the teenagers. Modern technology had

conquered the life of teenagers. Today, they are more getting in touch to video games.

The contents of video games contains: violent, horror and malicious graphics.

Especially video games with first person shooting games which children would likely to

follow. Video games are getting more controversial nowadays. As the graphics of video

games is getting more realistic, young minds are vulnerable to the aggression of violent

and explicit contents of the game. Teenagers will likely to apply in real life due to the

realistic graphics of the video games. The issue on involvement of violent behavior is

increasing. This could take place the effects of playing video games that leads to crime

change of behavior, violent actions and making dysfunctional and unfit teenagers.

Almost all of teenagers right now are engaged in playing video games. Some of

them have their own computer or game consoles in their house which is likely that they

will have or spend more time on that because they can play limitless. There are also

teenagers will also go to Internet cafe that could cause them to spend and waste money

on paying the service that the cafe gave them. This could destroy the personality of a
teenager, even the passion like sports and etc., will get declined because they will

already focus into playing video games.

Statement of the Problem

This study will inform the young kids, teenagers and parents that video games

has massive effects on the behavior, lifestyle and the creativity of an individual due to

not participating in the social , recreational activities in the society. It also tackles why

students prefer to use computer rather than sports. What are the advantages of a

computer? What are the disadvantages of a computer? Computers offer a number of

advantages, including giving users the ability to quickly and easily store and process

data, allowing for the digitization of things like photographs, music, movies, and books.

When connected to the Internet, computers allow users to near-instantly communicate

with people all over the world and to access a vast amount of information, resources,

and entertainment. Computers are also invaluable in running programs designed to aid

in research of all kinds. It can be disadvantage when we abused it especially when you

are already addicted to it.

Significance of the Study


This importance of this study is to understand the collected information on the main

reason why students most likely to play video games and how can it affect the life of a

student especially in lifestyle and the creativity of an individual due to not participating in

the social , recreational activities in UC-Main Campus.

Scope and Limitations

This research aims to deepen our knowledge about the massive effects of computer

and how it affect the lifestyle and the creativity of an individual due to not participating in

the social , recreational activities The research is being conducted by Grade 11 CSS

students in University of Cebu- Main Campus..It is stated in this research to determine

the massive effects on the behavior, lifestyle and creativity of an individual due to not

participating in the social and recreational activities.


Chapter II

Review of Related Literatures

According to Feretti Fred “the games are addictive,involve excessive violence,take-

away too much time from reading and beneficial physical activities,and when played in

arcades,are too costly.

development is an especially important concern for older children.”

According to Ching Alano “young people’s sedentary lifestyle (too much sitting and

fiddling with their smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other gadgets and gizmos) can be

hazardous, to their bones health.

striatum at the expenses of their hippocampus. And that has implications for overall

brain health, since neurological disorders such as Alzheimers and schizophrenia, the

researchers report this week in Proceedings of the Royal society.”

CHAPTER III

Research Methodology

In this chapter, the research strategy, research method, research design,

methods in gathering data, the type of analyzing data’s gathered and the limitations of

this research.

Research Design

This study involves about the massive effects of computer and how it affect the

lifestyle and the creativity of an individual due to not participating in the social

recreational activities. It also tackles why students ditch(cut) class

Research Setting/Locale

This study will be conducted at the University of Cebu and it is located in 155A

Sanciangko St, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu Street.


Research Respondents

The researcher choose CSS students (1-A) in University of Cebu Main Campus

as the respondents of this research because they are more knowledgeable in terms in

computer and have the ability to answer the questions.

Research Instrument

In collecting the data, the researchers will use survey questionnaire about the

massive effects of computer and how it affect the lifestyle and the creativity of an

individual due to not participating in the social recreational activities.

Gathering of Data

This survey will verify our conclusions and furthermore makes complimentary

conclusions. The researchers will furthermore analyze and conclude with supporting

details.
