ABSTRACT

Power distribution system is the distribution of the electricity from source end to load end .This
distribution is meant through several substations which includes one or more feeders. Radial feeder
system is one way flow of power from source end to the load end (mostly named as consumer end).The
protection of radial feeder system is very necessary for the continuous flow of power in power
distribution system.

The protection of power distributions is achieved by the operations of relays. In this project we have
develop various schemes to communicate the operational relays with each other. Through this project we
are preparing an operational panel of radial feeder protection for a real insight of substations. The
operational panel will have an operating circuitry on one end and visual display on the other end. The
visual display of the panel will cover the switches of the protection relays and the back end of the panel
will have the whole implemented circuitry.

Through this practical set up, this project can be used as primary lab of power system protections. This
project will help students to understand the basis operations of the protections, learned how different
schemes are wired and how relays communicate with each other’s in real power system. This project will
provide a good base of Power protection system to students in a practical power system.
