than others is the country they have done it for. On July 16th 1969, Neil Armstrong put his life
on the line for the opportunity to be the first man on the moon. Armstrong had no way of
knowing whether or not his mission would be successful. Because of Armstrong America has the
pride of knowing they were the first to touch the moon. Today the American flag still proudly
stands atop the moon, representing one of America’s most notable feats.
Davy Crockett has also been remembered throughout American hearts. Through the years, he has
had numerous T.V shows, Documentaries, and movies. Crockett is remembered for his bravery
at the battle of the Alamo and his frontiermanship. Before his death he fought under the
leadership of General Andrew Jackson in the Creek War. David Crockett had bad luck at a
young age. Before he was born, his grandparents were fatefully murdered by Indians. After
escaping a cattle drover who forcefully kept David past his contract, he ran away from home at
Ronald Wilson Reagan was born on February 6th, 1911. He grew up in the midst of the Great
Depression causing his father’s unemployment. Before he became president, he was an actor.
Some notable films he appeared in are Love is On the Air, Brother Rat, and Kings Row. After a 2
or 3 year hiatus in the military, he returned to Hollywood. However he found greater successes in
the television industry, starring in the television series Death Valley Days. In 1967 he was
elected governor of California and served until 1975. Reagan was sworn in as the 40th president
of the United States on January 20th 1981 and served two terms. Ronald Reagan is one of many
American heroes who helped build and shape our great nation. These are the people who have
put great patriotism into our hearts. Thanks to them we our proud to call America home.
