Introduction
This document has been produced by Stancil Corporation detailing the ‘Commercial Off The Shelf’ (COTS)
hardware which is used to manufacture the 1U Stancil Logging Recorder. Stancil Corporation has
evaluated many configuration options and is delighted to recommend the solution provided in this
document. Please note, all the performance figures have been taken from the manufacturers’ websites
and have not been independently verified by Stancil Corporation.
Overview
Shown below is a picture of the front and back of the Standard Stancil Logging Recorder (SLR). It is shown
with one analog interface card.

HDMI Ports
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is an all-digital audio/video interface capable of transmitting
uncompressed audio/video signals. The HDMI port is HDCP compliant and supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS
HD Master Audio formats. It also supports up to 192KHz/24bit 8-channel LPCM audio output. You can use
this port to connect your HDMI-supported audio/video device. The maximum supported resolution is
1920x1200, but the actual resolutions supported are dependent on the monitor being used.
DVI-I Port
The DVI-I port conforms to the DVI-I specification and supports a maximum resolution of 1920x1200 (the
actual resolutions supported depend on the monitor being used).

Stancil Services
The following Stancil services are core to the Stancil Logging Recording and are supplied with all recording
systems.
Client Services
Client Services provide the ‘interface’ between the clients and the back-end services. Using this service, all
clients, remote or local, can logon, search and playback multimedia recordings. Certain clients come as
standard with the system while others are an option. No matter which user clients are purchased, they all
work in a concurrent manner.
Management Services
The Management Services provide common services to the recording system. These services will be
continually expanded to enhance the functionality of the recorder.
Storage Services
The Storage Services is responsible to manage the stores. These tasks include indexing the recordings,
providing search capabilities as well as copying recordings to long term stores.
Stancil Clients
One concurrent license of the following clients are provided with all recording systems.
Administration Client
The Administrator Client is responsible for configuring the Stancil Logging Recording. Typically, the user
runs the client at the server so the changes can be verified.
Player Client
The Player Client is responsible for searching, playing back and exporting the media recording from the
Stancil Logging Recorder.
Repeat Client
The Repeat Client is to playback the current or most recent recordings at a position. This is used to verify a
recent conversation.
Reports Client
The Reports Client provides the user with a historical representation of their traffic. This can be used to
determine channel activity, hourly break down to help in staffing requirements, as well as keeping a traffic
log of user activity with the Stancil Logging Recorder.
Status Client
The Status Clients provide a single view of the current status of the Stancil Logging Recorder. From this
interface, the user can see which channels are busy as well as the available storage space on all available
stores.
Stancil Options
Hardware Options
The Stancil Logging Recorder supports multiple hardware recording cards. These cards can be mixed to
meet the individual recording requirements. Shown below are the typical characteristics of the card types.
More detailed specification for each card type can be supplied upon request and advised if the installation
has anything which may be out of the normal.

Recording Solutions
Shown below are the available software recording solutions for the Stancil Logging Recorder.
Additional Options
The additional options which can be supplied are:
CTI Services – Decodes Motorola Smartwatch, RIMII, ATAI and E911 feeds. These feeds will need
either a serial or network connection
Record on Request Client – A user can remotely start and stop a recording channel.
Map Player Client – The call can be displayed in a geo-locational manner assuming the E911 feed
supplies mapping co-ordinates.
Scenario Client – Provides a manner of displaying trunked radio recordings in a graphical manner.
