Trump’s unilateral decision
to recognize Jerusalem as the
capital of Israel.
“The recognition is un­
acceptable. Once again, Pre-
sident Trump’s recognition
is unacceptable and must be
strongly condemned,” he said.
He called on all OIC coun-
tries to unite and set aside any
differences to defend the Pales-
tine.

the first bilateral free trade
agreement between Indone-
sia and a country in Latin
America.
The HPI and Amerop Di-
rectorate Generals play an
active role in the 6-round
IC-CEPA negotiations since
2014. The Directorate Ge-
neral of HPI even served
as lead negotiator on the
Working Group on Legal
and Institutional Issues.
The signing of IC-CEPA
is a manifestation of a bi-
lateral agreement between

and the president of Chile
during the visit of Chile’s

let to Indonesia on May 12,
2017 to complete the IC-
CEPA negotiations in 2017.

Pandeglang Regency has received a

grant from the Directorate General of
Fiscal Balance, the Ministry of Finance,
amounting to Rp85.5 billion.

Pandeglang Regent Irna Na-

ment on the Flood Manage-
ment in Selected River Basins
(FMSRB) program in 2018
at the Nagara Dana Rakca

Six regions have been se-
lected for the pilot projects
of the grant, namely Banten
Province, Maluku Province,
Regency of Pandeglang, Se-
rang, Lebak and Ambon.

neral of Water Resources of
the Ministry of Public Works
and Public Housing, number
KU. 01. 01-DA/456 dated July
19, 2017 concerning the revi-
sions of proposed allocations
and lists of local governments
receiving grants.

tended to strengthen the f lood
prevention plan in the re-
gions.
He said the impact of f lood-
ing can lead to the destruc-
tion of roads and crops as well
as polluting the clean water.
“One of the outcomes of this
grant is the reduction of f lood
risk with the target of saving
19 thousand hectares of rice
fields and 22 thousand house-
holds from f looding by 2022.”
Budiarso added the grant
came from the foreign loan
(PLN) and has two main goals,
improving the public servic-
es and the welfare of the com-
munity.
“It is clear that the f loods
have damaged the roads and
other infrastructures which
impaired the public servic-
es and disrupted the human
health. So, this fund is ex-
pected to be able to prevent
the f lood from happening,” he
said.
Budiarso further said the
f loods can be caused by var-
ious factors, especially the ri-
ver management which is not
optimally yet both in the ci-
ties and in the villages. “The
local government can also use
the grant to improve the pub-
lic services during the f lood.”
Meantime Pandeglang Re-
gent Irna Narulita said the
grant is expected to cope with
the impact of the f loods hit-
ting the Pandeglang Regency
frequently.
“We would like to thank the
central government for this
grant. We also need a help in
working on the river which
caused the f lood to make the
water f low normally again,”
she said.
According to Irna, the grant
is a top down policy. Thus,

Tourism Minister Arief Yah-
ya has inspected the locations
supporting the tourism in
Lake Toba, a tourist destina-
tion for priority development.
After accompanying President
Jokowi in inaugurating the Si-
langit International Airport
Terminal, he went to Sigapi-
ton Village, Toba Samosir Re-
gency, on the eastern edge of
Lake Toba.
The small village has been
selected as a pilot project for
the Homestay Village Develop-
ment by the Ministry of Tour-
ism. It was the second visit of
the minister to Sigapiton Vil-
lage, while the first was held
on July 8.
Since October 15, 2017
two units of homestay named
“Jabu Na Ture” have been set
up. The homestays were built
based on the designs made by
participants of the competition
of bamboo made Homestay Nu-
santara and Homestay Ecopod
held by the tourism ministry.
Bamboo is a type of plant
that grows quickly in many
are­as in Indonesia. Bamboo is
easy to find, and its mainte-
nance is also easy.
The design of the Jabu Na
Ture Homestay is inspired by
the typical Jabu Bolon, the
traditional house of Batak
Toba tribe, but with a modifi-
cation by using bamboo mate-
rial which is cheaper and envi-
ronmentally friendly.
The homestay development
is funded by the Tourism Mi-
nistry to socialize to the com-
munity how to maintain the
local architectural character-
istics (archipelago architec-
ture), and to make the home-
stay as one of community
tourism businesses. The fur-
ther development of the home-
stay will be offered to the pri-
vate investors.
The two homestays in the
Lake Toba area are expected to
boost the interest of local peo-
ple to designs their homes as
homestays so that the village
can run the tourism business
independently.

foreign tourists, unfortunate-
ly it is still under one million
until early this December.
“For foreign tourists, the number
only reached 600,000 per No-
vember but this must increase
in December due to the Christ-
mas and New Year holidays,” she
added.
According to Ida, tourism is
very important to continue to
be developed, considering that
this sector can become the loco-
motive for the economic growth
as well as to serve as the main
source of state revenue. The
data from Bank Indonesia (BI)
in 2016 show the tourism con-
tribution to the economy in West
Java, especially accommoda-
tions and restaurants, reached
Rp33 trillion. Even the nation-
al tourism contributes the sec-
ond largest foreign exchange af-
ter the oil and gas sector.
“The BIJB will benefit the
tourism sector even more. It will
surely boost the number of tour-
ists, especially from the overseas
with the availability of the direct
flights,” said Ida.
She added that the potential
of West Java which is blessed
with beautiful natural land-
scapes should be utilized max-

want to travel to West Java with

the developer of the Special Eco-
nomic Zone (KEK) of Tanjung
Lesung granted 62,434 square
meters or 6.2 hectares of land to
the Pandeglang Regency admin-

The land document was hand-

PT BWJ Poernomo Siswopraseti-
jo to Regional Assistant for Pub-

form of cooperation, the grant is
also to facilitate the participation
of regency in the management of
tourism in the region.
Poernomo said that on some
of the granted land will be built
a road and a landfill in Kam-
pung Cikadu, Tanjungjaya Vil-
lage, Panimbang District, cover-
ing 36,234 square meters of the
land. Meanwhile the other 24,300
square meters of the land is for
the development of Cikadu Tour-
ism, and the rest of 2,000 square
meters will be used for an office
building. “This grant is fully our
initiative (BWJ). It is expected to
make the KEK Tanjung Lesung
more attractive to the investors
and tourists,” he added.
Poernomo also said the tech-
nical development on the granted
land is entirely the responsibility
of the regency administration, in
cooperation with the central go-
vernment through the Directorate
General of Human Settlements at
the Ministry of Public Works and
Public Housing (PUPR). “I am op-
timistic that early 2019 the KEK
Tanjung Lesung will go global,
considering the regional develop-
ment planning in 2018 has been
done well.”
Meanwhile Regional Assis-
tant Undang Suhendar said he
will soon make the plan on how
to manage the granted land in
KEK Tanjung Lesung optimally
to achieve the goal.
“The goal is to prosper the com-
munity around the KEK. They
are not a spectator, but a player
who should benefit from the ex-
isting of the tourist destination,”
he said.

PT United Tractors Tbk
(UNTR) is optimistic that the
sales of Komatsu heavy equip-
ment in 2017 reaching the tar-
get of 3,500 units. The company
has targeted to sell 3,800 units
in 2018.
UNTR Corporate Secretary
Sara K. Loebis said that in 2017
the sales of Komatsu heavy
equipment by UNTR might reach
3,500 units. In 2016 UNTR only
booked the sales of Komatsu
at 2,118 units. That means the
2017 sales increase 60.47% year
on year (yoy).
The high target was supported
by the good sales in the first ten
months of 2017. Until October
2017, UNTR sold 3,058 units of
Komatsu. On average, 306 units
of heavy equipment were sold by
UNTR per month. So, in the last
two months of 2017, UNTR would
only need to sell 442 more units
to achieve the target.

Going Smart, Cikarang Dry Port
Launches MyCDP Application
Cikarang Dry Port, managed
by PT Cikarang Inland Port, has
been developing a smart port
concept to accelerate and sim-
plify its services and support
the national logistics system.
The smart port concept is in line
with the government’s efforts to
streamline the national logistics
and support the integration sys-
tem of Indonesia National Single
Window.
As an early stage of the smart
port development, starting from
last early May, the Cikarang Dry
Port has been implementing the
auto gate system, truck member-
ship and association connected
to the port service system, cus-
toms and quarantine. This deve-
lopment aims to simplify the pro-
cess and facilitate the exchange
of data in a paperless system.
Now the Cikarang Dry Port, as
a spoke and hub of the Tanjung
Priok Port, is preparing to launch
a mobile application called
MyCDP. The soft launching will
be done tomorrow on Wednes-
day (12/13) in Jakarta according
to the invitation received by pre­
sidentpost.id.
The application will make us-
ers easier to track their contain-
ers, oversee the reefer containers,
estimate the terminal charge bill,
and order a truck for delivery.
This will certainly make it easi-
er for the customers to manage
their logistics activities by only
using their smart phone when-
ever and wherever they like.
As a breakthrough in the lo-
gistics industry, we were curious
about the MyCDP application.
It can be downloaded from the
Google Play although it’s still un-
released. However, we could not
try it because we must have the
registration ID which is only gi-
ven to the Cikarang Dry Port cus-
tomers after being verified.
What we could do just look-
ing around the features offered
by the application. On the home-
page there are 5 menus, namely
Container Tracking, Reefer Data,
Tariff Simulation, Associate and

Feeder Service.
The Container Tracking menu
provides information of contain-
er whereabout, the time of exit-
ing or entering the sea port and
the time of coming or leaving the
Cikarang Dry Port, as well as in-
formation on related documents.
The Reefer Data menu pro-
vides information on the condi-
tion and temperature of the reefer
containers while in the container
terminal of Cikarang Dry Port.
The Tariff Simulation menu is
a tool to estimate the total cost of
terminals used by the containers
after leaving them at the specified
dates.
The Associate menu provides
information on the trucking or
other transport modes providers
can be used after the issuance of
the bill of lading.
The Feeder Service menu is
used to order and monitor the
delivery services, pickup, and do-
mestic transportation modes.

1 Million TEUs of Containers Enter
TPK Koja Throughout 2017
The government’s efforts
to improve the logistics effi-
ciency seem to show results.
At least it is reflected in the
increasing volume of goods
handled in a number of ma-
jor ports in the country.
The container termi-
nal of TPK Koja records the
throughput from both inter-
national and domestic ship-
ping companies exceeding 1
million TEUs until the first
week of December 2017. This
figure is the highest ever
since the terminal was estab-
lished 20 years ago.
“The throughput of more
than 1 million TEUs is a mo-
numental achievement for
TPK Koja,” said General Ma-
nager of TPK Koja Ade Har-
tono in Jakarta on Sunday
(12/10).
According to him, until the
end of this year, the manage-
ment of TPK Koja estimates
the total throughput will
reach 1.095 million TEUs, or
31% higher than the target
for 2017 set at 830,531 TEUs.
The achievement will sup-
port the government program
in cost-efficient logistics to spur
the national economic growth.
The administration of Presi-
dent Joko Widodo (Jokowi) tar-
gets to increase the efficiency
and cut the loading and unload-
ing time at the ports. Besides
lowering the logistics costs, the
goal is also to increase the vo-
lume of goods and services han-
dled at the ports. Hopefully, the
wheels of the economy will spin
faster.
“The achievement tanks also
to the support of relevant stake-
holders, especially the operation
of the northern pier,” Ade said.
He added the accomplish-
ment will become a reference for
the company to run according to
the corporate roadmap that has
been compiled until 2020. “We
must continue to make improve-
ments to maintain this achieve-
ment, especially in improving
the service quality and repairing
the supporting facilities.”
Ade also said the exceeding
1 million TEUs throughput was
supported by appropriate mar-
ket penetration strategy accord-
ing to the corporate roadmap.

Nuryono Arief said that the BCH
(loading and unloading contain-

The students from Engineer-
ing Geology of Bandung Insti-
tute of Technology (ITB) won a
competition organized by the
Society of Petroleum Engineer-
ing Pandil Deanayal Petroleum
University Student Chapter
(SPE PDPU SC) at the Ghandhi-
nagar, Gujarat, India, in Novem-
ber.
The ITB team was victorious
in two categories; the first ca­
tegory is Showcase (Paper and
Poster Competition) won by Rio,
Fernaldy Sebastian Santoso,
and Betari Ayu Pramita (En-
gineering Geology class 2015).
The second category is Geology
(Geology Challenge) won by Fer-
naldy Sebastian Santoso, Rio,
and Zaky Indra Putra Rami-
ta (Engineering Geology class
2015).
In the competition, Rio and
his friends had to go through
a series of difficult selection
phases. At the Showcase cate-
gory, the first stage of abstract
selection required the contes-
tants to come up with an idea
or brief writing about geology.
There were 60 abstracts submit-
ted which after being discussed,
were presented before the judg-
es.
Rio and his team presented
an idea about mapping the pat-
tern of seepage spreads of the
Moot Court Competition” as
the oldest moot court compe-
tition in Indonesia. They also
won the National Moot Court
Competition held by Law Fa-
culty of University of Indone-
sia late last year.
“For the ICRC competition,
the FH Unair delegation pre-
pared it in four months with
the support of the lecturers,”
said Iman Prihandono.
According to him, the team
won the National Round af-
ter winning the semi-final in a
fierce battle against the Gajah
Mada University team. Then
in the final round the Unair
team beat the team from the
University of Indonesia (UI).

I went to Medan in early December and for some
reason what I thought was only Ucok Durian. May-
be because it’s been viral after visited by President
Jokowi or just curious why many people sell the duri-

My first visit to the durian store was on the morn-
ing of December 2, 2017 at 11:00 pm. By using an
online taxi, I went to the store which is quite close to
my hotel.
Once at the store, I could see the cashier was busy
serving customers who were making payments or

I asked for 2 durians for dine-in with my wife, and

say this durian is very creamy and makes you want
more.

I glimpsed Mr. Zainal, the owner Ucok Durian,
briefly so I did not have a change to speak to him. On
my last day in Medan or the next day, I went back at
5.30 pm. I was surprised to find the store was packed
with customers and durians piled up, while the own-
er was watching.
This time I got the chance to talk with Mr. Zainal
Abidin Chaniago or Ucok, but not for long because I
had to catch the train to Kualanamu Airport.
“25 Years ago, I was selling durian at the corner
of Jalan Iskandar Muda in front of a store,” said Ucok,
adding he could only open his business after dusk, af-
ter the store was closed.
Now Ucok is assisted by 30 employees and every
day he can sell 3,000 durians. In holidays 7,000 du-
rians are sold with a turnover per day reaches Rp75
million.
It is a great achievement for Ucok. His store be-
comes a favorite destination for tourists who want to
eat fine durian with good services and complete faci-
lities in the middle of the city.
