Statement of the Problem

The study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of compact biogas system as
cost effective means of energy production and waste minimization.
Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions
1. How cost effective is compact biogas?
2. How to minimize waste in the production of compact Biogas?
3. What are the different processes in producing Compact Biogas ?

Significance of the Study

To the Community- It will offers the alternative renewable source of energy for
domestic energy crisis in rural and sub-urban areas like in Bataan

To the Environment- It will improve hygienic conditions in the community

through reduction of pathogens. Environmental advantages through protection of soil,
water, air etc.,

Researchers- This study would serve as future reference to other researchers

who are related to this study.

Scope and Limitation of the Study

 The core of the study is the use of compact biogas system as alternative
renewable source of energy for the environmental crisis.

 The biogas producer can be used in urban and rural areas where enough
space is needed for the said project. Biodegradable waste should be grind
properly so that it can be put in the digester and to allow faster digestion.

Biodegradable waste- is a type of waste which can be broken down, in a matter of

weeks or few months, into its base compounds by micro-organisms and other living
things, regardless of what those compounds may be.

Biogas- is produced by bacteria through the bio-degradation of organic material under

anaerobic conditions.

Compact Biodegradable Household Waste Biogas Producer - is a combination of

digester and gas holder either a single chamber or separate chambers depending upon
the design of the plant. There should be an inlet portion in the digester for the input of
organic matter and an out let portion for discharging the treated organic materials from
the digester.
