For the third Volume of this ongoing series entitled New York Studio Conversations (Volume
II) art historian Stephanie Buhmann conducted interviews with twenty artists, whose ages range
from early 41 to 96. While the featured genres, processes and aesthetic approaches vary
decisively, all participants have one thing in common: they work and usually live in New York.
New York Studio Conversations (Volume II) introduces the following artists: Mary Abbott, Ghada
Ame, Petah Coyne, Louise Fishman, Judy Glantzman, Lorrie Goulet, Julie Heffernan, Alicia

For Berlin Studio Conversations art historian Stephanie Buhmann conducted interviews with
nineteen female artists. While their genres, aesthetics and media differ greatly, they still have one
thing in common: they all live and work in Berlin. In search of the contents, which are outside the
medial fixation on the art market, Buhmann visited the artists in their studios and gained insights
in the intimate space of their artistic practices. Berlin Studio Conversations presents their unique
work processes and approaches, while telling of various philosophies, sources of inspiration and
personal histories.

New York Studio Conversations presents a series of sixteen interviews with female artists
conducted by the art historian Stephanie Buhmann. Looking for an approach beyond the
mainstream media coverage of the art market, Buhmann visited the artists in their studios and
gained insights in this intimate space of artistic practices. All based in New York, the artists
represent a wide range of different styles and media.
New York Studio Conversations uncovers their artistic practices and creative approaches as well
as philosophy, sources of inspiration, and personal stories.
