OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
Students should be able to create attractive, impressive PowerPoint presentations infused
with rich multimedia content.
For e.g. students could create PowerPoint presentations to present to the class the work
they accomplished or a product they have created.
ACTIVITIES:
Introduction:/Set Induction:
Students will be shown a video on “How to
present Like Steve Jobs”. During which
Students will be asked to take note of any
information or key points mentioned in the
video on presenting effectively. They will
be required to make a list of steps in order of
main points that should be done
consecutively for a presentation in their
books.
Development/Strategy:
Students will be shown a video “How to perform like Steve Jobs”.
The site link for the video will also be given to students, so they can review it again on
their own.
Students will then be shown a PowerPoint presentation with the steps to be performed on
how to create a PowerPoint presentation.
The steps have already been created and listed on the website http://www.actden.com/pp/
Each step is on a separate web page. Students will be accessing the steps on their
individual laptops whilst watching the teacher on the board demonstrate it.

Tasks to be performed:
1. Open Microsoft PowerPoint
EVALUATION:

Home-Work - Crossword Puzzle.
Students will be given a crossword puzzle and will be asked to complete the crossword
on their laptops for homework, as well as their PowerPoint presentations.
CHALLENGE:
Your aunt and uncle from New York are visiting you during their vacation. They are
curious about finding information about your school. They would like to know what
school is like for you, what the activities that take place are and what it looks like.
Create a PowerPoint presentation which incorporates a lot of information infused with
multimedia content. Real pictures, videos and music that is relevant. Then present it to
the class.

CHALLENGE:
An international sporting event is due to be held in the Caribbean later this year. To
commemorate this event your company has been awarded a contract to design and
produce an appropriate keepsake for this event.
CHALLENGE: Your group is required to design and produce a keepsake for this
international sporting event. The keepsake should be safe, attractive, fit in a gift box
(12cm x 6cm x 2cm), cost less than $20.00 and highlight some aspect of Caribbean
culture.

NOTE: You are also required to develop a PowerPoint presentation to present
your keepsake to the class. Your presentation should show the unique features and the
tasks that were involved in making it, as well as what research you did. Hint: remember
to remind students to apply the techniques they learnt from Steve Jobs.
Marks will be awarded for: use of media and/or technology, creativity and
innovation, as well as effectiveness of presentation.
FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITIES:
Create a blog and have students’ blog on their thoughts about PowerPoint: such as what
Interpersonal they liked and what they didn’t like.
