The thesis of this article’s thesis is mentioning the arts of health and the visual arts therapy and
how it would be able to help out people with certain diseases, and help with stress and often
times depression. The article also states since we all don’t like to clarify or resolve the problems
we are faced with we pile them up which leads to mental and health problems. The author
provides evidence by telling us how there has been research on how art can help to heal from the
period of 1995 through 2007. The art of therapy has been used for more than a century and
positive outcomes have came from it. The healing process has also been used to inform others of
the healing process. The article is basically talking about the different types of methods that can
be used for therapy for different people which for one is art that has been used for over a century
and was proven to have good things come out of the search. It also mentions the way we think
can affect our well being which leads to piling up everything which is bad for mental health. The
way art had been able to impact lives due to how relaxing and easing it is.This article will help
me with my project by giving me information on the different methods that were used to help out
with stress and anxiety. New information that I learned from this is how art therapy has been the

The article’s thesis is mentioning how it helps to express and resolve one’s problems and how
therapists are trained in therapy and art to be able to help those with a different source of help. It
informs how art therapy helps to express and be able to understand the emotions of the person.
The type of evidence Kambra Meyer proves is the Art Therapy Sourcebook by Malchiodi talks
on the way that art helps is by the belief of inheriting power from the process of art making with
emotional reparation and and their transformation. The way art is seen is by being able to express
one’s self without being judged by others since it will all just be a beautiful art piece with so
many thoughts and emotions behind it. The article by the author Kambra Meyer gives
information of what therapists learn to do and how it helps to ease the mind. Art therapy can be
used for counseling, healing treatment and massage ones an individual's inner self for a deeper
understanding of themselves. Although not everyone is an artist doesn’t mean it should stop
them from trying. This article will help me with my project by providing me information on how
art gives off a deeper message to an individual and help them to express their feelings when they
can’t form it into words. Art therapists are taught to read through symbols and the forms of art to
make sure the individual is doing good and or progressing. Some ideas learned from this article
is that if anyone is to need some help but want want something too personal to try out art therapy
since it is nothing but making a canvas of what you want to speak out.

The article's thesis is how art is beneficial due to bringing a better focus to those certain areas
of concern and gives off a new insight to things instead of the traditional talks to help the
individual feel more comfortable and in place. The type of evidence the author provides is by
showing how the art of therapy helps a person much more than just regular talks with a therapist
since you’re able give your therapist insights by just creating art. This article shows the ways of
how art is beneficial because of the way you’re able to communicate through the art and giving
others a better understanding through it,but it also helps to open up a new state of mind. Art is
known to be an inviting unspoken and spoken communication that tends to help those who don’t
like to do the talkative course. This type of therapy helps to give a better listen and observation
due to opening up the unconscious since it is what the therapy would prefer for one to do because
the more open you are the better the chances are for them to express thoughts and emotions. This
article will help me with my project because it gives a better look into art and the way it helps to
relax the mind and open up new ideas that hasn’t been introduced or talked much about. New
information that I have learned from reading this article is the common benefits that use the
communication between the person and their therapist, and how it awakens and helps to spark
the process.

The article’s thesis is how art had has helped patients that had to be forced to deal with
brutal practices but would have to experience treatments first. Until Adamson set up his art
studio he had children that were neglected would use art as therapy. The evidence the author
uses is how Molloy says that art is like trying to describe balancing bipolar as the way of the
illnesses people have to go through. The way Adamson had went out of his way to go and build a
studio since he knew personally art has helped him and would be a good idea to let children use
it to express their thoughts and emotions. This article talks about different people’s experiences
of art has helped them and would like others to feel the same way they did when they felt the
freedom of their art. It also mentions how instead of channeling your mood swings onto
something or someone else it would be better to channel them onto a painting that would help to
get your focus off whatever is stressing or probleming you. This article will be able to help me
with my project since it was able to provide me with information from someone’s point of view
and own personal experience on how art was their therapy and how useful it has been to them.
The information that I have learned from this article is how there are people who go through
their own difficulties but still manage to find something to to move them forward, and use it to
help others which in this case would be art. Some new ideas that I have gained from this is how
just helping one person and being able to see their progress can help to inspire to help create
something bigger.

Citation: Malchiodi, Cathy. “Why Art Therapy Works.” Psychology Today, Sussex Publishers,
30 Aug. 2016,
https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/arts-and-health/201608/why-art-therapy-works
The article’s thesis is the way individuals have taken art therapy and how it has made a great
impact for each to help them focus, strengthen self image in a more positive way, and experience
more freedom. The author’s evidence used to prove their point on why art therapy works is
because of the feedback they have gotten back from those who have taken their chance to try an
artistic way to express and show their behavior. This article talks about how the great outcome
from the individuals helped them to find themselves and even noticed the behavior changes in
those who have used this sort of therapy. It also shows how they have found insight and
comprehension in their emotions and by this it gives better understanding for both the therapist
and the individual. This article will be able to help me with my project by giving me information
by letting me know how the progress of the people that have taken art therapy progresses
because of the different set of mind it puts them in. new information that I learned is although
therapists could’ve just talked to the patients verbally art, their art actually helps them to better
create conversation by trying to understand the meaning and emotion and thought the artist has
put in.
