CLASS EXPECTATIONS

A. BE IN YOUR SEAT READY TO WORK DURING THE ENTIRE PERIOD


1. You must be in the classroom by the time the bell has stopped ringing.
2. Ready to work means you have taken out the material needed for the work to be done.
3. Begin working on the Bell Ringer as soon as you enter the classroom.
4. This will require you to receive permission from the teacher before leaving your seat.
5. This means that you are dismissed at the end of the period by the teacher, not by the bell.
6. Chairs are not to be moved or rearranged.
7. Congregating near the door, waiting for the bell to ring is not permitted.
8. Make sure you bring your materials to class! (I.e. Pencil, Paper, etc.)
i. Not having class materials WILL result in a tardy for the day.

B. NEVER TALK WHILE THE TEACHER OR ANOTHER STUDENT IS TALKING.


1. This will require you to raise your hand and wait to be called on before speaking.
2. Cell phones and /or mobile devices are NOT allowed during class, unless directed to use by the teacher.
i. Cell Phones/mobile devices WILL be placed in the charging station at the beginning of
class or kept put away in a bag or pocket.
ii. Cell phones that are visible during class will be sent to the principal.

C. RESPECT THE RIGHTS AND PROPERTY OF OTHERS.


1. This will require you to never go behind the teacher’s desk and to never use any of the teacher’s
equipment unless permitted to do so by the teacher.
2. This will require you to never touch or use items that are not yours without the permission of the owner.
3. There is no food or drink other than bottled water (clear) allowed in the classroom, unless provided by the
teacher or prepared during a food lab.
4. This means no one will be excused until all trash has been picked up off the floor and all materials are
returned to their proper place.

D. TREAT EVERYONE THE WAY THAT YOU WANT TO BE TREATED.


1. This means you will only say or do things that will be positive to another person.
2. This means you will never use profane or inappropriate language in the classroom.
3. This means that you will be respectful to the teacher at all times.
4. This means that there is to be no talking during or after tests until everyone has finished.

E. PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTIVITIES.


1. This means that you will be productive and stay on task.
2. This means that you will continue to work during the period until the teacher indicates work time has
ended.
3. There is no sleeping in class.
4. This is to be no working on homework from another class, unless permitted by the teacher.
5. There is to be no grooming once the teacher has taken over the class.

DISCIPLINE POLICY

Those students who violate classroom rules will be subject to the following consequences:

FIRST and SECOND OFFENSES: Verbal warning

THIRD OFFENSE: Respect essay and parent contact

FOURTH OFFENSE: Discipline referral


 Profane and inappropriate language will start at this level
 Disrespect to the teacher violations will start at this level

NOTE: Record of offenses is maintained each semester. All violations are cumulative.
