COMPANY BACKGROUND/HISTORY

METRO CONTAINER CORPORATION, a family owned enterprise, started as a backyard business prior to
its incorporation on March 16, 1973, with the primary purpose of engaging and carrying on the
business of manufacturing, selling and distributing on a wholesale basis plain and lithographed
packaging materials of every kind, description and character for use in the transportation and
preservation of goods in commerce and to conduct and carry all other business pertaining thereto.

Through the years since its incorporation, Metro Container Corporation in its pursuit of excellence, has
grown to lead the industry in the manufacture and distribution of high added value quality tin
containers, (plain and lithographed) in various packaging categories i.e., Industrial, Food, Novelties
and Giftwares.

In October 5, 1994, Metro Container Corporation was granted its Certificate of Registration with the
Board of Investments as Existing/Expanding Export Producers of Specialty and Novelty Tin Cans on a
Preferred Non-Pioneer Status under the government’s Omnibus Investment Code of 1987 (Executive
Order 226). Accreditation entitles the enterprise with various government incentives under EO 226
e.g., tax incentives, duty free importation of raw materials and capital equipment.

During the 2nd half of 2003, the corporation diversified thru investments of machineries and
equipments for plastic packaging in both the blow and injection moulding categories. This is in
response to the clamor of long-standing business partners namely Unilever-RFM Ice Cream, Inc.
(Selecta Ice Cream) and San Pablo Manufacturing Corporation (Minola Cooking Oil) to serve their
plastic packaging requirements. With these, the company’s imminent direction now is to pursue other
plastic packaging requirements in various industry categories i.e. food, detergent, motor oil, paints
and wax.

Presently, Metro Container employs 450 competent and well trained personnel in its workforce. Two
(2) strategic tin can, plastic injection and blow moulding facilities are located in Metro Manila which
caters to a wide array of applications in various container shapes, dimensions and designs .Main plant
is situated in Malinta, Valenzuela City, about thirty (30) minutes away from downtown Manila.
Installed here are four (4) tin lithography decorative lines, twelve (12) major can assembly lines and
power presses convertible to an extensive range of different types and sizes of cans for export and
local consumption in the following industry categories:

Cooking Oil
Biscuit Industry
Motor Oil & Lubricants
Paints, Wax, Inks & Adhesives
Ice Cream Cans & Other Food Items
Novelty & Fancy Promotional Cans
Air Freshener Cans
Coffee & Wine Cans

The main plant also houses a machine shop where all moulds, dies and tools for can-making are
fabricated by a host of a well-trained and technically competent engineers. Plastic injection and blow
moulding machineries and equipments are stationed here to service various packaging requirements.

Another plant, southeast of Manila-Pasig has four (4) assembly lines which services specifically tin can
packaging requirements for food products such as chocolates, biscuits, candies, coffee and ice cream
cans. Installed here also are six (6) new injection moulding machineries which specifically caters for
the plastic packaging requirements of Selecta Ice Cream, under its new corporate name Unilever -
RFM Ice Cream, Inc.

Recently, the organization established two (2) new sister plastic packaging companies to maximize
capacities and remain always viable in this highly competitive business environment. PLASTIZONE
PLASTIC MFG. in Valenzuela City services requirements of blow moulded plastic containers using HDPE
for soy sauce, cooking oil and other condiments. While IVEX INDUSTRIAL of Novaliches, Q.C. caters to
PET, HDPE and PP plastic container requirements with Rogemson Co. Inc. and Bench as its top clients
for personal care products. Expansion plans for 2005 are underway for IVEX INDUSTRIAL to acquire
additional machineries and equipments for the PET bottle business.

With its extensive background, technical expertise, innovativeness, cohesive team working and
