Procurement of Materials

Seeds and other materials will be bought from any reliable agricultural supply
in the locality.soil media will be collected within the crop area and madpress also.

Land Preparation
 The land will be prepared thoroughly by plowing and harrowing. Lime will be
applied before planting if soil pH level is below5.6.
 Seedbed will be prepared at 1.0m wide and spaced 0.5 between at 30cm high.
 Decomposed animal manure or compost will be mixed at the rate of 1.0
kg/linear meter bed.
 Basal Fertilizer will be applied in the hole.
 Just before transplanting, holes will be made; 1 row at around 5cm apart at
45cm between hills.

SEEDLING PRODUCTION:
Seeding trays will be filled with sowing medium. Ensure that it has a good
water holding capacity and good drainage.

Transplanting:
Four weeks old seedling with 4-5 or 6-9 true leaves and under a good
condition will be ready for transplanting. Transplanting will be done late in the
afternoon.
Fertilization:
Heavy fertilization of peppers will be avoided for it encourages
excessive foliage growth and delays flowering and fruit maturity. Side dressing
of ¼ table spoon per plant with nitrogen (21-0-0)will be done at 4 th and 8th
week after transplanting. Fertilizer will be placed 6 inches away from the base
of the plant and it will irrigated using a fine sprinkler.
Cultivation and Weeding:
Higher density plant spacing will also smoother weeds. Cultivation of
soil will only be done if it is hard for the entry of water going to the roots.
Irrigation:
Green Long Pepper is less tolerant to drought. Irrigation will only be
done during dry season.
Pests and Disease Management:
Undersides of leaves and new leaves will be inspected/checked for
pests and diseases. If pests and diseases are present, plants will be monitored
using of organic pesticide only after all other are done.
Harvesting:
Harvesting will be done when green peppers are firm and full sized (at
least 5-6 inches) but still green. Green peppers are ready to harvest 75- 90 days
from transplanting, but varies it with different growing condition.
