1.2 Definition of terms

OCCURANCE: The average no. of flight cycles performed per A/C per period of time (cycles/month)

AVERAGE FLIGHT CYCLES: The percentage of flights capable of performing schedule service. When several
consecutive flights are delayed or cancelled due to single
Condition by one event is counted.

FLIGHT COMPLETION RATEON TIME DEPARTURE: The percentage of schedule flights which depart without
mechanical delays of greater than 15 minutes or cancellations. Duration in minute of average flight during
reporting period Calculated by dividing fleet revenue flight hours calculated by fleet cycles and multiplying by
60minutes.

AVERAGE FLIGHT DURATIONFLIGHT COMPLETION RATE

Flight Completion Rate = 100 – (No. of Cancellation x 100 / Total Flights)
It is the probability of scheduled flights departing on time due to technical reasons.
Dispatch reliability = 100 – (No. of Delays x 100 / Total Flights)

TECHNICAL DISPATCH RELIABILITY CANCELLATION

A cancellation is counted when a scheduled flight does not occur. Cancellation of a multi-segment flight is counted
as a single cancellation.
It is the average PIREP per 1000 revenue flight hour.
Pirep Rate = (Total No. of Pirep / Total Flight Hours) x 1000

PIREP RATEPILOT REPORT (PIREP):

It is a known or suspected malfunction or defect as reported by flight crew in the Aircraft Technical Log book.

FLEET FLIGHT HOURS PER LANDING

It is the average flight hours per landing (Flight Hours / Flight Landings)It is the average flying hours per day per
aircraft considering aircraft in-service only.
Average Aircraft Utilization = Total Flight Hours / Aircraft Days

AVERAGE AIRCRAFT UTILIZATIONFLIGHT HOURS

The flight hours are airborne flight hours (Take OFF - Touch DOWN)
It is the average aircraft available per day for the period.
Aircraft in Service = Sum of Aircraft Days / Total Days in the Month

AIRCRAFT IN SERVICE
It is the number of days aircraft is available for the period.
Aircraft Days = No. of Aircraft in Fleet x Total days in the Month – Total days of Aircraft in ground

AIRCRAFT OPERATING DAYS ATBO (AVERAGE TIMEBETWEEN OCCURANCE)

The average flight time a component has experienced before maintenance was required. ATBO is calculated by
dividing the sum of the time in service on each particular component by the number of reported occurrences.

2. Introduction

Buddha air reliability is produced on a monthly basis as per CAMMOE Part 6 Section 10. The RCB meeting is to be
held quarterly.

The System Defect Rates and Alert Levels are calculated in accordance with UK CAA CAP 562 Leaflet 1-7 (formerly
CAP 418) “Condition Monitored Maintenance” 3.8.3 (e) (I), Calculation 2 (see also Appendix B Example 1 of the
same leaflet). The Alert Levels are taken as the mean of the three-monthly moving average Pirep rates /
maintenance defect rate plus three (3) Standard deviations. For this report, the 30 month period Jan '11 - Jun '14
has been used.

This report covers the Buddha Air Fleet for the period 01-Jan-2012 to 31-Dec-2013 for MTBUR. For comparison
purposes components removed are compared with MTBUR Calculated within those dates.

A reliability alert level is purely an 'indicator' which when exceeded indicates that there has been an apparent
deterioration in the normal behavior pattern. When an Alert Level is exceeded the appropriate action has to be
taken however it is up to Technical Support Division to decide if any action is required. It is important to realize
that Alert Levels are not minimum acceptable airworthiness levels.

PLEASE REFER TO MONITORING AND REVIEW SHEET.

4. New agendas

Agenda No. RM/2016/002/01

8 events of system defects were reported on Remote Control Audio Unit (RCAU) on 9N-AIM. RCAU was replaced
twice and reracked once.

Agenda No. RM/2016/002/02

On Jan-21-2016 Engine 2 de-icing fault lt. Illuminated on 9N-AIM. After troubleshooting, engine intake
throat deicing boot was found punctured and aircraft was released under MEL cat “C”. The deicing boots
were replaced and normal operation was observed. On March 04 2016 ice detector probe was found
defective. Aircraft was released under MEL due to lack of stock. Operational unit installed on March 07
2016.

Agenda No. RM/2016/002/03
False GPWS warning with Radio Altimeter data erratic on 29 Jan on 9N-AIT. Radio altimeter transceiver
was interchanged with 9N-AIN and was found operational.

Agenda No. RM/2016/002/04

3 system defects were reported on 9N-AJO on ATA 74 (IGNITION).

Agenda No. RM/2016/002/05

High temperature on flight deck of 9N-AJS was reported thrice. LH Air Cycle Machine (ACM) was found defective and
was replaced twice. After second replacement, flight temperature was found only to be satisfactory.

NOTE: If any additional agendas are raised during the course of the meeting the agenda tracking number will be
serial continued and noted down.
